The

Civil War Muster Rolls of

Private Edmond (Edward) Coon

| Table of Contents |Next Record |

Note: These Muster Rolls follow the course of Edmond Coon's service as a private in the Union army. The first document records his regiment's "mustering-in" at New York City on November 21, 1862. He had previously enrolled on September 3rd in Palmyra, NY. On April 9, 1863, Edmond is listed as "absent sick". It was probably shortly before this date that Edmond contracted Typhoid fever, which was to ultimately result in his transfer to the 20th Invalid Corps, in which Edmond was to spend most of the remainder of the war.

I have attempted to reproduce the appearance of the muster rolls, obtained from the National Archives, as accurately as possible. Fonts in script are to be considered as written by clerks; other fonts as printed on the form.
