In the matter of the application for pension of Edward Coon

ON THIS ________ day of _______________ A.D. 18 ; personally appeared before me, a __________________ in and for the aforesaid County, duly authorized to administer oaths J. G. Aldrich aged 71 years, a resident of Perinton Township in the County of Monroe and State of New York whose Post Office address is Egypt well known to me to be respectable and entitled to credit, and who being duly sworn, declare in relation to the aforesaid case as follows: That they have been well and personally acquainted with Edward Coon for 10 years, and 11 years respectively, and that we are farmers by occupation, and have been well acquainted with Edward Coon for the last past ten years, that we have employed him and worked with him more or less during the said time on our farms at farm labor. That we live within one-half to three-fourths of a mile respectively from him, that upon an average we see him from one to three times per week, and during all the time of our acquaintance with him he has complained of suffering from Chronic Diarrhea more or less. That quite often he has been unable to perform any labor from a few days to perhaps weeks at a time. That he is now just recovering from an attack of some ten days duration. He also complains of rheumatism and unpleasant sensations in the region of the heart. We further say that the proportion to a sound, able body of man's work he is able to do about one-half, and that his actual earnings are not over one-half of what a physically sound man's would be. - We are only able to say what his physical disabilities are from his complaining. Over exercise brings this diarrhea on, which of course produces debility and frustration. This disability is of a permanent character, and is not the result of his own vicious habits.
