Mrs. Anna Stephany, who operated the Hotel Stephany in Pittsford from 1934 to 1950, died Monday (June 17, 1963) at County Home and Infirmary, where she had been the past three weeks.
Mrs. Stephany, widow of Edward Stephany, cooked and did other work in the hotel, which was owned by her son, Alfred J. Stephany, until he sold it to Mr. and Mrs. Donald M. Wildey last year. They renamed it Wildey's Hotel Stephany.
For the past ten years she lived with her daughter, Mrs. Walter Esker of 16 Westbrook Road, Pittsford. Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Oscar Ruffing of Columbus, Ohio; 13 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Josephine Stephany and Elizabeth Harp of Rochester. Her son Alfred lives at Conesus Lake.
Mrs. Stephany was a member of the Rosary Society of St. Louis Church, Pittsford, and a charter member of St. George's Auxiliary of St. Michael's Church, Rochester.
