Hannah M. (Gardner) Hoag

Born: September 4, 1805 - Rennselaerville, New York

Died: November 5, 1868 - Farmington, Ontario Co., New York

Daughter of Elisha W. Gardner, Sr. and Sarah Pattison.

Hannah M. Gardner came to Farmington, NY with her parents in 1814, at the age of nine. She was raised in the religion of the Society of Friends (Quakers). On May 2, 1824 she married Daniel Hoag (Born: July 5, 1803 - Died: Jan. 17, 1894). Daniel became a successful farmer in the Farmington area. They had eleven children:

1. Sunderland P. G. (b. Oct. 28, 1824 - d. Nov. 7, 1909), married Amy P. Wilbur.

2. Mercy A. S. (b. April 12, 1826 - d. June 30, 1905), married William Bentley Hopkins.

3. Harriet P. (b. Jan. 17, 1828 - d. Jan. 12, 1856).

4. Sarah (b. April 3, 1830 - d. June 2, 1830).

5. Sarah G. (b. July 5, 1831 - d. April 23, 1855).

6. William W. (b. May 14, 1834 - d. Sept. 2, 1909), married Charlotte Bennett.

7. Hannah M. (b. Dec. 29, 1836 - d. Dec. 9, 1911), married to Ira Allen.

8. James E. (b. Dec. 13, 1839 - d. 1903).

9. Mary E. (b. Aug. 4, 1842 - Nov. 19, 1861).

10. Arabell G. (b. July 4, 1845 - d. Aug. 4, 1876).

11. Daniel J. Hoag (b. Dec. 12, 1848).
