I have 2 Arabians that I bought 4 months ago. One we rescued from the auction house, the other one, the lady did not have the time nor money to keep. Tasha is my horse's name. Anyway, I bought them to just ride for pleasure, I did not really care about th ir lineage. I did register them due to their papers, but again, I did not really care. Then, one day looking at the horses, I really saw how beautiful they were after being with us a couple of months and they had been grazing in our field. The way they stood and held their head, and pranced around, it just gave me a feeling inside. I had that feeling when I saw them, but more so later. So, I decided to breed them to an Arabian Stallion that I knew was in our area. Then I began to look on the internet on Arabians, which led me to lineage, and to your net. My horse Tasha, is related o your horses through Faddan, and BintBint Durra, on her Mother's side. I looked at her pedigree and began to realize that this horse as a good lineage through both her Mother and Father. So to make a long story short, I am hooked! I have realized that I o not want to breed her to just any horse, but continue her lineage. Tasha has:( not in order) Mansour, Indraff, Ibn Rabdan, Fadjur, Raseyn, Fadheilan, Skowronek, Cabbet Sura, Sureyn, Witez II, and the list goes on. There is alot for me to learn, but just reading and looking at the different Arabians on the internet has made me want to learn more, and how much, I was so lucky into buying two horses that nobody really wanted and has turned out to become much more than I had expected. We too have Babson bred horses, and we actually live only 20 miles from Dixon, IL!. We have been to the Babson farm and found it lovely as well. I really like your page, however I was having trouble with Yahoo interrupting the site saying it could not be ound. But I was in the middle of it coming up on my computer. It looks like a great site! But here we are having trouble selling horses as we are in an area of QH and Paint lovers- including the judges at the local shows. We have even been told of judges telling paren s that they should find other horses for their kids as they(the judge) would not place an Arabian no matter how well it does!!!. Some of our customers who purchased horses from us, and absolutely LOVE them and Arabians, have bought Paints for their kids s they will be competitive locally. We are very disappointed. We moved from Amarillo TX to Tulsa Ok and are starting over. We own one mare, two of her fillies, a son of hers, one on the way (May). All are Straight, Al Khamsa and Blue List. I have raised horses since 1962 and in the "80's concentrated on the ISLAM-bred horses. I lost my stallion at 7 years old which was a great heartbreak to myself and the breed. Live in Hickory, NC and know woman who has BLUE STAR only breeding program. She rides endurance and has produced at least 5 generations of babies with same stallion and mare. The offspring are all in this area and I've had unique opportunity of seeing all 5 generations. It's like they're stamped from the same mold. Even though the colors vary somewhat, they all have the same great temperment and looks, soundness and beautiful movement. Her stallion is so gentle that he's safe around anyone. I bought last y ar's filly and am convinced that I want BLUE STAR only. This breeder, Audrey Chilton, also has a friend in Texas who is a breeder and has taken one of her mares down there so the Texas breeder could use her for a couple breedings. Are there any groups or hat lines, etc. of people who are interested in preserving the BLUE STAR bloodlines...to exchange info? I've had always one or two Arabians (for riding only) for more than 15 years, and am now interested in helping to perpetuate this line. My filly is a g andaughter of Le Encore and Am Bayah on top and Al Nour and Am Kamaala on the bottom. I've been trying to educate myself (books, Internet) about body-types, strains, etc. The names are a bit difficult at times, but I'll keep after it. A big breeding operation won't have time to talk to me, most likely, but it would be nice if people around the country who may have just one to five horses decided on Blue Star bloodlines... it would certainly help perpetuate the breed, especially if there was a ready source of information for people who have the desire but need guidance as far as selecting th best sire to breed their Blue Star mare to, etc. Didn't mean to go on so long....
