Maud Eliza PIERCE was born February 21, 1892 in Mt. Zion, TX Coryell Co., /Pancake, Texas.  She died March 21, 1969 and is buried in Turnersville, Coryell Co.,TX- Turnersville Cem.  She married Cullen Edward GRANT on May 27, 1911 in Jonesboro, Texas.  Cullen was born April 30, 1892 in Ames, TX Coryell Co. and died May 30, 1974 in Amarillo, Texas and is Buried in Turnersville Cem TX.  Maud and Cullen had 9 children.

Maud was the daughter of William Marion PEARCE and Annie Serena JOHNSON.  William Marion PEARCE was born in 1862 in Pearce Mills, Alabama.  He died 1944 in Turnersville, TX Coryell Co., Turnersville Cem.  Annie Serena JOHNSON PEARCE was born 1865 and died 1960 in Turnersville, TX Coryell Co., Turnersville Cem.  William Marion was born a PEARCE but because of a Land deed.  He and his children all changed their name spelling to Pierce.  They are all Buried as Pierces.  William and Annie Pearce had the following children:
1.  Viola Pierce died in 1930 ( I believe she is buried in Turnersville Cem with no marker) and married Oliver Walker
2.  Ralph Pierce married Myrna Cude and she died 1969.  They had two children: Edgar and Connie.
3.  Lela Pierce died in 1939 in Anton, Texas when a car Backfired and she burned to death.  She married Emmett Haskell Grant, son of Cullen and Susan Grant.  Emmett was born December 19, 1886 in Coryell Co., TX and died March 23, 1960.  Lela and Emmett had 10 children.

Now Marcus Pearce was the son of John Madison Woods Pearce and Elizabeth Skinner.  They married in 1823.  John Madison was born March 20, 1805 and died October 08, 1889 in Pearce Mills, AL.  Elizabeth was born July 23, 1803 and died April 13, 1878 in Pearce Mills, AL.  Together they had 10 children:  Sara Ann Pearce b. 1824, Willis Marion  Pearce b. 1825, Timothy Woods Pearce b.  September 12, 1829, James Pearce b.
