At Lighthouse Baptist Church, we believe that we exist for one primary reason - to glorify our great God. Glorifying God means we are submitted to His will and committed to be as pure as possible. This becomes the umbrella under which all of our actions and programs are deemed worthy.

However, there are other purposes we must fulfill in order to glorify God's name. We must seek to evangelize those who do not know the saving power of Jesus Christ. We must seek to bring those people whom we reach into the membership of our local church through baptism. We must bring our members to spiritual maturity by educating them in Christlike character. We must equip every saint within our fellowship to accomplish his/her role in our ministry and mission in this world. Only after we have met these four goals are we fulfilling the greater purpose - glorifying our great God.

Each of these five purposes can be stated in one word:

1. Worship - We exist for the express purpose of glorifying our great God.
   
2. Outreach - We exist for the purpose of bringing people to Jesus.
   
3. Fellowship - We exist for the purpose of bringing all saints into our family.
   
4. Discipleship - We exist for the purpose of teaching all saints to be Christlike in holy character.
   
5. Service - We exist for the purpose of preparing all saints for service.
