TIME WELL SPENT

Time Well Spent

"Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless." -Mother Theresa

What do I think is time well spent? Time spent helping others (volunteering) or yourself. I feel very strongly that volunteering is an important part of everyday life. As my 9th and 10th grade health teacher would tell you, "random acts of kindness" are not hard to do. Hold the door for someone, press the button on a stoplight so someone can cross the street, watch the neighbor's kids so they can go make a phonecall. Of course volunteering is more than a random act of kindness, it's time you set aside to help Participate in a beach cleanup day - the litter you pick up won't have a chance to reach another shore or any ocean life. Volunteer at a school fair; paint children's faces or work at a booth. By doing something small, such as helping with an arts program or even a horse show, you can really brighten someone's day. Volunteers are a vital part of society and many are extremely wonderful people.
