George the second by the Grace of God of Great Britain, France and Ireland, King Defender of the Faith -- ye To all to whom these Presents shall come greeting, Knowye that for [looks like"diven"] good Causes and Considerations but more especially for and in Consideration of the Sum of Ten Shillings of good and lawful money for our use paid to our Receiver General of our Revenues in this our Colony and Dominion of Virginia. We have given granted and confirmed and by these Presents for us our Heirs and Successors Do give grant and confirm unto James Jolet one certain Tract or Parcel of land containing sixty-one and an half acres lying and being in the County of Spotsylvania and Parish of Saint George and bounded as followeth, to wit. Beginning at two red oak saplings on a hill in Mr. John Allans line Thence keeping his line North sixty degrees East one hundred and ninety-two Poles to his corner being a white oak and black oak in a glade in the line of John Robinson Jun. Esq. Thence keeping the said Robinsons line South twenty degrees East one hundred and six Poles to Thomas Salmons corner black oak two red oaks and a hiccory all saplings on a ridge. Thence keeping the said Salmons line West two hundred poles to the beginning place. With all woods underwoods swamps marshes lowgrounds Meadows Feedings and his due Share of all Veins Mines and Quarries as well discovered as not discovered within the Bounds aforesaid and being Part of the said Quantity of sixty one and an half acres of Land and the Rivers Waters and Watercourses therein contained together with the Privileges of hunting hawking fishing fowling and all other Profits Commodities and Hereditaments whatsoever to the same or any part thereof belonging or in anywise appertaining To have hold profess and enjoy the said Tract or Parcel of Land and all other the before granted Premises and every Part thereof with their and every of their appurtenances unto the said James Jolet and to his heirs and Assigns forever To the only use and Behoof of him the said James Jolet his Heirs and Assigns forever To be held of us our Heirs and Successors as of our Manner of East Greenwich in the County of Kent in free and common [? looks like "Touage"] and not in [? looks like "Capite"] or by Knight's Service yielding and paying unto us our Heirs and Successors for every fifty acres of Land and us proportionably for a lesser or greater Quantity than fifty acres the Fee Rent of one shilling yearly to be paid upon the Feast of Saint Michael the Arch Angel and also cultivating and improving three acres part of every fifty of the Tract abovementioned within three years after the Date of these Presents provided always that if three years of the said Fee Rent shall at anytime be in arrear and unpaid or if the said James Jolet his Heirs or assigns do not within the Space of three Years next coming after the Date of these Presents cultivate and improve three acres Part of every fifty of the Tract abovementioned Then the Estate hereby granted shall cease and be utterly determined and thereafter it shall and may be lawful to and for us our Heirs and Successors to grant the same Lands and Premises with the Appurtenances unto such other Person or Persons as we our Heirs and Successors shall think fit. This Indenture made the 19th day of June in the year of our Lord God one Thousand seven hundred and Sixty Between Joseph James and Mary his Wife of the County of Culpeper of the one part and James Jolly of the same County of the other part Witnesseth that the said Joseph James and Mary his wife for and in Consideration of the sum of Twenty five pounds Current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said James Jolly at or upon the Ensealing and Delivery of these presents the receipt whereof they doth hereby acknowledge Have Given Granted Bargained and Sold Enfeoffed and Confirmed and by these presents do Grant, Bargain Sell Enfeoff and Confirm unto the said James Jolly his heirs and assigns forever all that Tract or Parcel of Land Situated lying and being in the County aforesaid and on little Crooked Run and Bounded as followeth. Beginning at two Maples and Red Oak on Little Crooked Run in Beverlys line thence with his line North Twenty seven Degrees East One Hundred and Sixty eight poles to a White Oak and Two Pines Corner to the said Beverly and Henry Field, thence with the said Field’s line North Seventy two Degrees West one hundred and four poles to a White Oak and Pine thence South Twenty seven West one hundred and Sixty eight poles to two Pines on the North side Crooked Run thence South Six Degrees West fifty poles to three Pines on Kirtley Road thence East Sixty Pole to a White Oak on the South side the said Road thence North Seventy Degrees East Seventeen pole to a Maple and White Oak in the Little Crooked Run thence down the Several Meanders of the Run to the Beginning. Containing One hundred Twenty seven acres of Land be the same more or less together with all Houses, Outhouses, Gardens, Orchards, Woods, underwoods, water and watercourses, Profits and Emoluments whatsoever to the same belonging or in anywise appertaining and the Reversion And Reversions Remainder and Remainders thereof and of every part and Parcel thereof To have and to hold the said Tract of Land and all and singular the premises with the appurtenances unto him the said James Jolly his Heirs and assigns to the only proper use and Behoof of him the said James Jolly his heirs and assigns forever and the said Joseph James and Mary his Wife their Heirs the said Land and premises with their and every of their appurtenances unto the said James Jolly his Heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and forever Defend by these presents against any person or person whatsoever having or Lawfully Claiming any right or Title to the same or any part thereof Belonging or in anywise appertaining and the said Joseph James and Mary his Wife hath good right and lawfull authority to sell and convey the same in manner and form aforesaid and that the same shall ever remain unto the said James Jolley his Heirs and assigns freely and clearly Required Exonerated and Discharged of all and all other Bargain Sales Judgments and Execution or Estates whatsoever. This Indenture made this 19th day of July in the Year 1832 Between Jacob Rife and Catherine wife of the County of Rockingham and state of Virginia of the one part and Andrew Casebolt and James W. Jolley of the County and state aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that said Jacob Rife and Catherine Rife his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar lawful money of Virginia to them in hand paid by the said Andrew Casebolt and James W. Jolley the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sale to the said Andrew Casebolt and James W. This Indenture made the 4 day of March 1839 Between Fielden Jollett and Mary his wife of the County of Rockingham & State of Virginia of the one part and Joseph Mauzy of said county of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Fielden Jollett and his wife for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said Mauzy at or upon the ensealing & delivering of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby fully acknowledged have bargained & sold and by these presents they and each of them do Bargain Sell -- and confirm unto the said Joseph Mauzy and his heirs & assigns a certain tract or parcel of land lying in said County on the south side of Naked Creek and containing sixty six acres it being the same land which was conveyed to the said Jollett by Joseph Mauzy and his wife by their deed of bargain and sale bearing date the 12th day of July 1837 which Deed was duly Recorded in the Clerks office of said County and Bounded as follows Viz. THIS INDENTURE made and entent into this 9th day of March 1849 by and between George Conrad and Susan his wife of the one part, of the County of Rockingham and State of Virginia and Fielding Jollet of the county of Page and State of aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that the said George Conrad & Susan his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar in hand paid by the said Jollett at and before the unsealing of these presents the receipt whereof the said G. Conrad doth hereby acknowledge, have bargained & sold and by these as bargain & sell to the said Fielding Jollett his heirs as a certain tract, parcel or bounds of land lying in the aforesaid County of Page and on a ridge of the blue ridge called the long and is part of a large tract of land formerly owned by Jose S. Graves decd. And by said G. Conrad and bounded generally by the top of said long ridge & beginning at John Eppert corner of the land he purchased of Yeakle or D. Utz line: thence with said Eppert line on the top of the said long ridge to said Yeakles corner & continuing from the thence with Stroles line to opposite the head of bushy hollow (so called) & thence down in the hollow to the north naked creek & with the same to Daniel Utz's line & with the same to the beginning supposed to contain about three hundred acres be it more or less together with all and singular the appurtenances there to belonging. Uttzs line up the mountain called Pine Head to when [sic.] William Bruding corners and thence with S. Bruding's line to the Creek & with the same up the creek to the old County line of Rockingham & Shenandoah and thence with the Sd. County line to the top of Stony Ridge (so called) and thence down with the Ridge to opposite Bushy Hollow head where Fielding Jollette is to go by his contract with Sd. Conrad and thence down the Bushy Hollow to the Creek and to the Beginning. The said Susan Conrad & others named as parties in the first place covenant that they have the right to convey the said land to the grantee; that they have done no act to encumber the said land; that the grantee shall have quiet possession of the said land, free from all encumbrances, and that they the Sd. Susan Conrad & others named, as parties of the first part, will execute such further assurance of the said land as may be requisite.

Jollett receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained and sold by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said James F. Jollett his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land lying on the north side of the long ridge in the County of Page and State aforesaid and bounded as follows, Commencing at John Epards corner on the long ridge at Fountain S. Utzes line then running with Epards line in bout [sic.] the top of the long ridge to Stroles line then with Stroles line even with the head of bushy hole so called, then a North course to bushy hole then down bushy hole to John Jolletts corner in bushy hole then with John Jolletts line a South course to a corner in the hollow then with John Jolletts line a S. W. course to John Meadows line then with John Meadows line to the beginning, corner supposing to be two hundred Acres more or less to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with the appurtenances thereto belonging to him the said James F. Watkins and Columbia A. his wife of the County of Rockingham and State of Virginia, and William W. Smith & Frances Ann his wife of Pike County & State of Illinois, of the one part, and John W. Jollett, of the County of Page and State of Virginia of the other part, Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars in hand paid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, and for the further consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars to be hereafter paid in payments as follows vz. Two hundred dollars to be paid on the first day of June 1867. Jollett his wife for and in consideration of the sum of ten dollars in hand paid by the said John E. Meadows, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do grant unto the said John E. Meadows a certain tract of land lying on Naked Creek in the aforesaid County adjoining the lands of Thomas Shiflett and John W. Jollett, and formerly owned by Fielding Jollett and is bounded as follows, Beginning at a Spanish oak in the south side of Naked Creek running with Thomas Shiflett’s line 105 yards to a Chestnut and Rock oak, thence 185 yards to a large cliff near the creek, to a rock oak and hickory, thence 35 yards to the creek to two white walnuts; thence with the creek to the beginning containing two acres more or less. And the said John W. Jollett and Sarah E. Jollett his wife release unto the said John E. Meadows all claim or claims upon the said lands and the said John W. Jollett and Sarah E. This Deed made this 19th day of September 1889 between Thomas J. Epard and Polly A. Epard his wife of the County of Rockingham, State of Virginia, B. F. Merica and Lurena his wife of the County of Page and State aforesaid, and Simeon A. Epard and Caroline his wife of the County of Campbell and State of Kentucky of the first part and William Meadows of the County of Page and State of Virginia of the second part. Witnesseth that whereas on the second day of April 1875, Thomas J. Epard and wife conveyed to said William Merica a certain tract of land in said County of Page, it being a part of the land of which Reuben Epard died, seized and possessed and on the 12th day of February 1880 said B. F. Merica and wife conveyed to said William meadows a certain other tract of land in said County and State it being also a part of the land of said Reuben Epard dec’d, both of which deeds have been recorded in the Clerk’s Office of the County Court of said County of Page, the first in Deed Book “S” Page 198 and the second in Deed Book “W” Page 63 and whereas there had been no legal partition of the real estate of said Reuben Epard dec’d, nor deeds made by his legal heirs, each to the other, and whereas it is desired that the title to said two tracts of land so conveyed as aforesaid to said William Meadows shall be made perfect and complete as to all the heirs of said Reuben Epard dec’d, then for the Deed Witnesseth that in consideration of the promises and of the sum of Five [?] Hundred and thirty dollars, the consideration named in said deeds above referred to, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, the said grantors of the first part do grant unto said William Meadows the two certain tracts of land mentioned and described in said deeds from Thomas J. This Deed, made this 18th day of October one thousand eight hundred and eighty nine (1889) between Asher Dean of the County of Rockingham and State of Virginia, party of the first part and Lucretia Ann Shifflett the wife of Thomas S. Jollett and Sarah E. Jollett his wife doth grant and convey with general warranty of title unto the said Annie Lamb all of that certain tract or parcel of land situated in the said County of Page and State of Virginia designated and described as follows to wit: Beginning near John Meadows’ corner on Naked Creek at a sycamore and Spanish Oak and running thence S. 3° E. 46 poles to a white oak, thence N. 89. E. 32 poles to a chestnut thence N. 77 ¾ E. 18 poles to a locust in the field, thence N. 88 ¼ E. 22 poles to a chestnut oak, thence N. 66 ¼ E. 52 poles to a gum and dogwood, thence N. 22 W. 16 poles to a ------ at the bushy hole branch, thence down said branch N. 62 ½ W. 2 poles to a poplar, thence N. 72 ¼ W. 43 poles to a cedar at the entrance of the branch into creek, thence down and with the Creek in its diverse courses 59 poles to the beginning excepting and reserving nevertheless out of the above described real estate the foregoing tract or parcel of land herein foresold and conveyed or intended to be conveyed to John E. Meadows as follows to wit: a certain tract of land lying on Naked Creek in the aforesaid County adjoining the lands of Thomas Shifflet and John W. Jollett and formerly issued by Fielding Jollett and is bounded as follows: Beginning at a Spanish oak on the South side of Naked Creek and running thence with Thomas Shifflet’s line 105 yards to a chestnut and rock oak, thence 185 yards to a large cliff near the creek to a rock oak and hickory, thence 35 yards to the creek to two white walnuts, thence with the creek to the beginning containing two (2) acres more or less, being the same tract of land that was conveyed to John W. Jollett by Fielding L. Jollett by deed dated March 28, 1859 and duly recorded in the County Court Clerk’s Office of said Page County, Virginia reference to which deed is hereby given and the said John W. Jollett and Sarah E. Jollett his wife convenant that they have good right to sell and convey the real estate as aforesaid and that they will exercise such further assurances as may be requisite—Witness the following signatures and seals.

This deed made and entered into this 26th day of November 1910 Between Cornelia F. Jollett of the first part of the County of Greene and G. A. Morris of the Second part of the county of Greene and both of the state of Virginia. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Eighty-five dollars $85.00 cash in hand paid to the said first party by the said second party, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged. The said Cornelia F. Jollett do this day grant, bargain, sell, and convey with general warranty of title unto the said G. A. Morris a certain peace [sic.] or parcel of land lying being situated in Greene County, VA known as Gordens Morris land adjoining the land of George Night and others containing fifty-six acres more or less the said Cornelia F. Jollett sell all of her title and right in her fathers real estate it being one sixth part , it being the same land G. A. Morris now resides on.
