Smack Cake

1 1/2 cups flour
2 egg yolks
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tsp.baking powder
1/2 cup butter
1 cup chopped nuts
2 egg whites
pinch salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Take flour, white sugar and butter and mix or rub well together. Add wll beaten egg yolks. Add vanilla and baking powder. Mix all together. Mixture will be dry and crumbly. Put in a long greased pan. For the top of the cake, beat brown sugar, walnuts and whites of eggs together and spread on top of cake. Bake in moderate overn for 20 minutes.
              
 

Never Fail Chocolate Cake

1 1/2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1/2 cup cocoa
1 1/2 ts. salt
1/2 cup sweet milk
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup boiling water
Caramel icing: 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4cup milk
2 cups confectioner's sugar

Cream butter, mix in sugar and eggs. Add in remaining ingredients. Pour into a greased 9x13 inch pan. Bake at 350F.

Caramel Icing: Melt butter and add brown sugar. Boil, stirring constantly. Add milk and boil. Slowly add sugar. Beat until consistency obtained for spreading.
            

Chocolate Oatmeal Cake

1/2 cup rolled oats
1 cup hot water
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
2 heaping tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda dissoloved in 1 tbsp. hot water
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 cup flour
1 tsp. baking powder
