Charles Alaire
was
the son of Sébastien Alaire and Périnne Fleurissone,
inhabitants of Saint-Philbert-du-Pont-Charrault, diocèse of Luçon,
in Poitou. Arrived in New France in 1658, Charles Alaire married
on November 10, 1663 Catherine Fièvre. After
their marriage, the husband and wife settled at Sainte-Famille, Île
d'Orléans, where Charles had, since 1667, a land of six arpents
in value. Prosperous farmer, ten years later, he acquired a new land,
this time in the Saint-François parish. From his marriage
with Catherine Fièvre, he had 13 children, among those Charles
who ensured the posterity.
