I- PHILIPPE
DESTROISMAISONS
married at Château-Richer, on November 18, 1669, to
Martine
Crosnier (daughter of Pierre Crosnier and Jeanne Nodreau)
The surname of
the ancestor Philippe was originally Destroismaisons, a nickname.
This name certainly came from the fact that he was originating from the
hamlet "Les Trois Maisons" in the province of Bazinghen in Picardie.
While arriving in New France, his name changed into
Picard, name
from where he came from. Philippe Destroismaisons initially settled
on the Côte de Beaupré at l'Ange-Gardien where he worked for
the sieur Bertrand Chesnay de la Garenne. A few years later,
he married at Château-Richer, on November 18, 1669
Martine Crosnier.
They were establishedon the south shore of the St. Lawrence
on a land located at the borders of the seigneurie de Rivière-du-Sud,
in this area which was to become later Saint-Pierre-du-Sud.
