I can't seem to get into any chat groups even though I was a regular when Adam was first diagnosed. It's been 2 yrs since he's been seen but we're going in May. One thing that you mentioned about Ryan that I've never heard from anyone else was the heada hes he had. I always called Adam's 'flash' headaches because they came and left within a minute or two. His neurologist couldn't explain them. Adam also has episodes where one eye dilates. Heard anything like that? It is very nice to have found you.

Paul age 7 - birth date 10/29/92 - autism diagnosis; Allison age 4 - birth date 7/14/95 - autism diagnosis. Both are fairly high funtioning. Paul speaks well, but comphrension not so great, but getting better. We use alot of social stories with him an sequence his days. He is in a Speicalized instuction program and mainstreamed into reading and math/reg. 1st grade. Allison just starting talking this past year and is getting better, her speech is not a clear as Pauls but keeps improving. She has been in private speech since 2. She is presently, aside from private speech, in an Early childhood class/half days/5 days week. Both are involved in the sibling study and the University of Chicago.

Your site caught my eye because I too have two children with autistic spectrum dx. I know what you mean about autism being such a big part of your life. Some people think I'm obsessed or overly open, but I feel like to deny the autism is to deny my chil ren their identity. My Julie is almost 4 and is verbal and pretty high functioning. My Kevin is 2 1/2 and is just starting to talk but we don't know what the future will bring. Thanks for your site, you're right, it's important to know we aren't alone. We also have him on a vitamin theraphy program with good results.He has been on it for a year.He has fairly good comunication skills now and can sit and work on projects for a longer period of time with less outbursts.The secretin helped him to follow directions better.We dont know if we will continue the secretin because his last dose seemed to cause him to behave worse than usual about 3 days after. Hi, This is John's girlfriend and am new to being a semi stepmom to children, let alone to a child with Austium. She is 9 years old, and trys to break and eat everything. I am not use to this kind of behavior. We have tried doing several behavior programs wit her, but they aren't getting through to her. I was wondering if you had any ideas on how we can break this circle and start a strait line for her since she is going to be a big part of my life. She is up for a month from her mom's in Oregon, and I feel a though I am failing at being a good provider to her. She isn't potty trained either, and that makes it hard to deal with the bathroom.
