About the Harmon Genealogical Society

The Harmon Genealogical Society (HGS) is in the very earliest stages of birth. If you are interested in becoming a Charter Member of the HGS, please email me at jharmon3@yahoo.com.

Charter Membership will include a lifetime membership in the HGS. I am going to have to charge a small fee for membership (in order to cover costs of officially setting up the Society). However, I do not know what that fee will be (I want to charge the bare minimum possible, but I want to charge enough to cover most of the costs of actually organizing something). Emailing me with interest will in no way oblige you to pay whatever fee I come up with—in fact, feel free to email me telling me that the fee is a terrible idea! When I get organized enough to set a fee, I'll send anyone interested an email with further details. After that, if you decide you hate the idea, simply delete that one message. I will not pester you repeatedly trying to get you to join.

Membership in the Society will eventually include an extensive Harmon Genealogy CDROM, a newsletter (annually or perhaps more frequently), and hopefully a full-color, professionally-drawn version of the two known Harmon coats of arms, and a short description of the meaning of the name.
