My Child

You are my child and I love you.

How can you love me? You ask, you do not know me.

I do not know what you look like, the color of your eyes,
you hair or even your skin,
and yes I love you, You are my child.

Why do you love me? You ask. You do not know me.

I have never met you, I know not even how old you are,
you may be 2,4 or 6 years old, you may be a boy, you
could be a girl, I have no idea, and yes I love you,
You are my child.

Why do you want me? you ask, you do not know me.

I know you enough to know that you are special, you are
unique, you are a child who needs a Mother, I am Mother
who needs a child, and yes I love you, you are my child,
and I want you.

Adoption Creed

Not Flesh of my flesh nor bone of my bone but still miraculously my own.

Never forget for one single minute you didn't grow under my heart but in it.

We are guilty of many errors and many faults but our worst crime is abanoning the children neglecting the fountain of life.
Many of the things we need can wait The child cannot.
Right now is the time bones are bing formed blood is being developed.
To the child we cannot answer "Tommorrow."
The child's name is "Today."
