My Little Corner of the World

Hi, I'm Anthony. I was born in August, 1996. I love watching Sesame Street, Barney and Tellytubbies (especially LaLa). My favorite things are school busses. When I see one, I go absolutely bezerk, yelling, "bus" "bus" I'm not afraid of anything and am constantly climbing on the dining room table, using mommy and daddy's bed as a trampoline and running. I especially love going to the park and going down the big slides or letting mommy or daddy push me real high in the swings. I don't like the word "no" and do my very best not to listen when mommy or daddy tell me "no". I have quite the temper too and when I get mad, I like to throw myself on the floorand have a temper tantrum.

My vocabulary is building all the time. Its up to about 25 words. I say "flowers" and "ba" for big bird and I say "dad" and "momma" and "sis." I can say "truck" and "bye, see ya." My favorite word is "bus" and I love to watch the school busses in the morning when we drive my big sister to school. I can say Brrmmmm Brrmmmm when I see a big truck go by or when I am playing with my cars and I'm very good at giving kisses and waving goodbye. When mommy or daddy tell me to get a clean diaper, I go right into my room and come back with one. When they tell me its time for night night I go right to the refrigerator and wait for my bottle, wave night night and give everyone each a kiss. I will go get my jacket and shoes when its time to go out and I can point to my head, hair, eyes, nose, belly, feet, hands and nose when asked.

My attention span is getting better too. When one of my parents put a Sesame Street video on, I sit in my rocking chair or stand in front of the tv and watch the video for a little while. I dance and try to sing with it too.

UPDATE: 5/13/98 - Today I came home from Day Care with the Chickenpox. Yuk!!!!! 5/16/98 - I'm broken out from head to toe; boy does this stuff itch!! Mommy keeps covering me with calamine lotion and giving me oatmeal baths and tylenol for my fever - why do I have to feel so yukky???? Just can't wait until this is over and I can play with my new friends again. :-( UPDATE 5/21/98 - I'm back in daycare and playing with my friends. Mommy's friend told her about Caldesine powder and it worked much better than Calamine lotion. It not only dries the pox up but takes away the itch. I think I will be just fine. :-)

UPDATE 8/28/98 - Well I turned two last Sunday. Spent most of my birthday in our minivan coming home from vacation in N. Carolina. Mom and dad think we might move there next Summer. We all really like it down there. I've grown quite a bit both mentally and physically in the last few months. Most people when they see me think I'm 3, 31/2 years old when I'm only 2. I think its pretty funny but mom gets a little upset about it. I learned some new things lately - one really bothers my parents. We were in a Shoney's someplace in Pennsylvania on our way to Virginia when a few ambulances and fire trucks went by. Well I really got excited and started yelling "f-e-truck" "f-e-truck" (that's not quite the word I used but mommy didn't like what I really said - I don't know why its such a bad word, I'm only 2 yrs old and I just repeat what I think a word sounds like - I don't know what bad words are)Well, a lot of people laugh when I say it so I say it a lot. hee hee its fun to make people laugh. My new favorite show is "Blues Clues." Thats one show that really holds my attention. I hope it stays on for a long time!!! Hey guess what?! I went swimming in the ocean for the first time this Summer. Poor mom and dad couldn't keep their eyes off of me cause I have no fear and I loved to run in and out of the ocean. Its even fun when the waves knock me down. Heck, I just get right up and run some more. I'm not afraid of the road either. Poor mom and dad - hope I don't give them a heart attack or something.

I go to Day Care full time now that Summer is just about over. Its a lot of fun and I've made some friends. We get to go outside on the playground and go on the swings and run around and play games and draw pictures. Its pretty kewl. I never know who is gonna pick me up or what time they're gonna come cause mom and dad get out of work at all different times. Its okay though, I like surprises.
