Counter Acapulco American Legion, Post No.4

THE AMERICAN LEGION
CAPT. EMILIO CARRANZA POST NO.4
Apartado Postal 180 C.P. 39300
Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico

The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic, mutual-help, and wartime veteran's organization. A community-service organization that now numbers nearly 3 million members--men and women--in nearly 15,000 American Legion Posts worldwide. These Posts are organized into 55 Departments--one each for the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, France, Mexico and the Philippines.

Acapulco's American Legion Post No.4 was formed and chartered on March 8, 1989 with twenty-five members. We currently have 75 members and are continually reaching out for new recruits. Our Post is unique. A majority of our members reside in Acapulco only during the winter months, therefore, our social and community-service affairs are held primarily during this period. Someone once described The American Legion as an organization that came to play but stayed to work. The same description pretty well fits a Legionnaire. We have a great time! Our membership is composed of individuals who are here to enjoy themselves, but are also dedicated to helping their community. Come join us, share in our activities, we know you will enjoy the experience.
