I once read a little story about a
little boy who met a Shepherd carrying a little lamb. The lamb’s legs were all
bandaged up, and yet as it lay in the Shepherd’s arms, it licked lovingly at His
neck. "What’s wrong with |
|
that little lamb?" asked the boy. The Shepherd replied, "His legs are broken." "How did it happen, asked the little boy?" "I broke them" said the Shepherd to the shock of the little boy. "What… why?" asked the little boy. "Well," said the Shepherd, "this little lamb kept wandering away from the flock, and would not come even when I called him. He kept getting himself into situations that threatened his very life, and still he would not listen. So I broke his legs, because when he can walk again, he will never again wander away from the flock, … or me. I did it to save his life." "...My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him; For whom the Lord loves He chastens, and scourges every son whom He receives." If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness. Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it." (Heb 12:5-11 NKJ)Isn’t it sad that so many of us have to go through that chastening experience before we will sit up and take notice of God. This is my experience, and I wish I could prevent others from making the same mistakes that I have made. If you are ignoring God, please turn to Him before it is too late. He calls to you because He loves you, and He has a life planned for you that will surpass your wildest imagination. I was born in Johannesburg in October 1967, and attended Roosevelt Primary School, and later Roosevelt High School. I completed my national service in the Air Force, during which time I decided to join Permanent Force in the Air Force Band. I spent the next eleven years making music, but for the whole, my life lacked music. The blessings that God bestowed on me went unnoticed, as I searched for `happiness’. Life threw me a couple of curved balls, and unfortunately, instead of turning to God, I turned away from Him. I made a career change into computer networking in 1997, and even at this time I did not acknowledge God’s hand in my life, despite my lack of commitment to Him.. The last eighteen months has been the worst time of my life as I went through that chastening experience, and yet, God has, and continues to carry me through each day. I can honestly say that I live each day in His strength, and I just want to praise and thank Him for all He has done and is doing in my life, and through me. I am still in networking and in between studying and working and Church activities, have decided to try my hand at web page design. I hope that you enjoy this site, and pray that God will use it to reach out to people who are looking for something. I believe that, while the internet holds so much evil, it also holds awesome potential for the spreading of the Gospel. The question is, what are we doing about it? Are we leaving this incredible technology to Satan and his goons, or are we out there fighting for our God. The founder of the Salvation Army, William Booth. once said, "Why should the devil have all the good music?" My question to you is, "Why should the devil have the run of technology?" let’s get on the internet, and let’s win it for God. Get on those chat groups, post items on newsgroups, build a web page, send out e-mail. Jesus commands us in Mark 16:15, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation."(NIV) Never before have we had such an opportunity to reach out to so many people. There is a world out there "surfing the Web" in search of happiness. What are you doing to help them find it? Being a missionary has never been easier. Now you can reach others all over the world from the comfort of your own home. What’s your excuse this time? God bless you as you "cybervangelise" the world for Him. |
