Pat and Mr. Piggy

My name is Pat and I am the proud owner of Mr. Piggy, who I've had since he was 5 weeks old. He was 6 years old on May 10, 1999. He is a little overweight, well, actually he is a lot overweight. He weighs about 170 at this time, but there was a time when he was alot heavier.
He is a very spoiled house pig. He goes outside to do his business and wander around a little, but he spends the majority of his time inside. Before he got so big, he used to lounge on the couch with the cats.

He's kind of a pain in the butt sometimes. I have to put him out to do his business in the morning before I go to work, which is 6 AM. Once in a while he decides he doesn't want to get up, especially if it's cold. I have to yank on his blankets to get him to get up. This makes him very unhappy. Then he really won't cooperate. I have been late to work more than once because of this.

But how could you not
love this face?

He co-exists with my other animals pretty good, as long as they stay out of his way. When the cats hear him coming, they run. If they don't get out of his way fast enough, he shoves them with his snout. If my dog, Blackie, doesn't move fast enough, she gets bit on the butt.
As you can see he got along just fine with my son John's pet rat, Taboo. Taboo used to sleep right along side Mr. Piggy, so close that if he had rolled over, Taboo would have been squished. If Mr. Piggy had food left on his snout after eating, Taboo would nibble it off and Mr. Piggy never moved. Unfortunately, Taboo passed away a couple of years ago from cancer. It was very sad. Out of all my animals, he was Piggy's only friend.
Mr. Piggy loves belly rubs. Here's my husband, Jorge, giving him his "after work rub down".
Sometimes Mr. Piggy rolls all the way over on his back for belly rubs. That's a pretty amazing feat for a big fat pig!
