1852 and 1853 Purchased Federal Land in Illinois.Counties were Vermilion,Ford, and Champaign. Also noted at this time that a William Allen(William J Allen)* also purchase land in Vermilion County during this time.1855-Purchased Federal Lands in Illinois

1872-Purchased Grove Farm adjoining Spring Hill.Lived in Henrico County just south of Richmond. Owned farm on the James River.

1872-Florence C Allen divorced William F Giddings, State of Kansas, Johnson County.Papers filed October 1872. Noted in divorce papers she made a diligent search for William F Giddings and was unable to find his whereabouts, had been willfully absent for more than one year, and had been guilty of habitual drunkeness for two years and had to support herself and children for past three years. Two children born as a result of this marriage, Christian Giddings aged four, and Maud Giddings, aged two at the time divorce papers were filed.
