The maiden name that was thought to be McCabe was actually Witt. [ Mary Elizabeth Witt]
Her second husband was also a 1st cousin to her 1st husband and she married him 5 months after the death of Joseph S. Cox.
The family that raised my Grandfather Jesse Thomas McRaven was Mary "Cox" McRaven's sister and his Aunt Sarah "Cox" Derr and her husband David Derr.They lived in Lawrence Co.Allison Township, Illinois.
Armstead Wilson was named after his uncle and Joseph S. Cox's father Armstead Cox.
Armstead Wilson's Mother, Sarah "Cox" Wilson married second Joseph Smith who was Joseph S. Cox's grandfather.
The family migrated from Campbell Co.Tennessee to Stauton, Indiana to Mt. Zion, Illinois and then to Alexander Co. Illinois.
