JERRY MARIE |
Danny Billy Teresa |
Marie's goal in life was to get married and have kids. At 16 she achieved one of these goals - she married Thomas Jerry Putman at Gravette, AR. To this union were born three children. Danny Thomas, William Albert (Billy), and Teresa Ann.
At 21 years of age, Marie had reached her goal, her family was complete, but her heart still seemed to be searching for the elusive happiness. This search was fulfilled when she found Christ as her Savior and was baptized at Immanuel Baptist Church, Rogers, AR.
Marie was manager of Linkway's Furniture store for 13 years. First woman manager ever to work in Linkways. She was featured as the top manager one year and won a trip to Hawaii. Marie worked for several years as a secretary at Immanuel Baptist church. Jerry has worked for Rogers Tool Company as a computer Programmer for 30 years.
Marie joined Toastmasters in l989 and served as publicity chairman, and Educational Vice President. Marie authored and had her first book published in 1989. The book Women at War is a personal testimony of how one woman found victory over depression, along with a message of encouragement to others. She has available a companion study guide. Marie has conducted women's seminars on her book, she is also a counselor in her church.
Marie "retired" April 1, 1994 to be home to enjoy! She spends lots of time freelance writing, and has sold several of her articles. She is truly becoming an accomplished writer. Jerry retired in 1995 and purchased a new motorhome for part-time travel. They made one trip to Colorado with other family members, to camp and fish, camping in the National Forest of the San Juan Mountain Range, at the Rio Grande Reservoir. The major trip for them was a four month trip to Alaska, caravaning with sister Helen and Bob Spears. Marie and Jerry were among the 26 family members gathering at Big Lake, AK for the Wiggin Family Reunion in June 1996.
Marie and Jerry are proud grandparents of a baby girl, Morgan Alyse. They both truly enjoy being grandparents to this precious little girl. Morgan is a beautiful child, she will look like a model when she is grown. This child is a delight to the family and has everyone in her complete control!
