Palm Springs Kennel Club & Hound Club Shows
January 8, 9, & 10
Baghdad Black Tie Affair was BOW at both Palm Springs shows,
BEST OF BREED the 2nd day,
and WD at the Hound Club.

Elena Edward's Talk of the Town son, Zorro
was RWD the first day and won his class the 2nd day.
(Zorro was BIS Sweepstakes at the
Saluki Club of Greater San Francisco in Oct. 1998).
The Powers/Haynes Talk son, Tavanai Hari, won BIS Sweepstakes and then Best Puppy at the ASA Desert Match.

On January 10, 1999, our Palomino Saddlebred yearling,
Ironbark's Chain Reaction! "Lincoln",
was Champion Palomino Yearling and Champion Palomino Stallion
at the 3-Breed Colour Spectacular in open Palomino competition.

On December 4, Lincoln was Supreme Champion Yearling
at the 25th Anniversary All Palomino Show under a panel of two American and one Interstate judge,
defeating the Champion Yearling Filly and Gelding.

At the RNSWCC New Years Eve Show Jordan
was Runner-up Best in Group & Junior in Show
At the PAL Christmas Show, December 19
Jordan was Runner-up Best in Group & Junior in Show,
and Runner-up Best in Group the next day at Wyong KC.

At NSW Women's Dog Club, December 12
Jordan was Runner-up Best in Group & Junior in Show,
while the next day at Parramatta ABKC he was Junior in Show again.

At Ladies Kennel Club, December 6
Jordan was Runner-up Best in Group & Australian-bred in Show

What's New - As of November 16, 1998
November 14 was the Sutherland Contest of Champions (for top Best in Show winners)
and the Contest of Future Champions
(for Puppy in Show winners at particular qualifying shows).
These contests were judged by a mystery panel of 5 All-breed judges.
In the elimination rounds 3 judges were drawn randomly. In the finals all judged.
Jordan won the Contest of Future Champions
and then went on to win the Contest of Champions!!!
- the youngest dog ever to do so at 15 months!

And earlier in the day he took Best in Show
at the Sighthound Association Champ Show judged by Helen Furber!

On Sunday at Campbelltown & DABKC Jordan took Best in Group
and Runner-up Best in Show!
under W. Weston & W. Rainie from the ACT.

were born on November 6!
2 cream boys, 1 white boy, 2 cream girls, 1 white girl, 1 black grizzle girl.

For the first two weeks of November
we had Saddlebred trainer Claude Shiflet
and his wife Alice over from North Carolina.

Claude worked me and the horses daily.
His favourite was Lincoln, our Palomino colt by Catalyst,
whom he would take back to Louisville!

What's New - As of October 19, 1998

September 28 was a very black day for us with the loss
of two of our Salukis at opposite ends of the world.
Nicklas Eriksson's Multi Champion Baghdad Globetrotter
and Stacey Shield's Baghdad Exotique were both killed in tragic accidents.

On October 3, Ch Baghdad Creme de la Creme, "Jordan"
took out Runner-up Best in Show at the Australasian Challenge Cup -
billed as the World's Richest Dog show.

Judged by a panel of 3 international judges,
Jordan took home nearly $600 in prize money!

September 9 - Jordan was Best of Breed at the Adelaide Royal.
September 19 - Best in Group and Junior in Show
at Fairfield & District ABKC
October 5 - Best of Breed at Hound Club of NSW
under A. Thomassen(Swed)

October 18 - Best in Group & Australian-bred in Show at
Southern Highlands K&OC

Taking Puppy in Show at Parramatta & District KC on June 21

Jordan won Puppy in Show at the Winter Festival
under Kent Delaney & B. Verhulst
At only 8 months of age,
he took Runner-up Best in Group both days at
these 2 major international shows in Sydney.
Hound Group the first day was judged by Eric White
and the second day by Kent Delaney.
"Jordan" went on to win Puppy in Show on the second day.

At Linköping International on June 6th
Judged by Benny Blid and Torbjörn Skaar, Sweden

Phantom went on to win Group 2 under Moa Persson
Phantom was the No. 3 Top Male Saluki for 1997. He was Best in Show at the Western Sighthound Club Show in June 1997 under Edwina Thomas (Aust) & June Minns (UK).

World Winner,Int. Swed.Nor.&Fin.Ch.
Baghdad Globetrotter
owned and shown by Nicklas Eriksson, took Best of Breed
over 155 Salukis at the World Show in Helsinki, judged by
Birgitha Runmarker. Trotter went on to take Group II under Terry Thorn,
with a group entry of 927.

This history making Saluki was also the Bronze Medal winner at the
FCI Supreme World Champion of Champions Contest.

On July 19 for her second Major, the Talk daughter Baghdad Almost An Angel
owned by Jean Warner
took BOS and BOW under Mrs. Betty Claus.
Owner-handled, she took the points over professional handlers.
At the National Specialty, Angel
handled by Anne Mayea,
was 2nd out of 21 in the 12-18 month Sweeps
and 2nd out of 23 in the classes, judged by Mavis Shellard (UK).

On April 20, Angel took 2 points under Barbara Ackerman and
at Mensona KC on May 2 , Angel was BOW for a Major.

Easter, 1998
BIS. BISS. Ch Baghdad Jeremiah was Best of Breed at Sydney Royal one of Australia's largest shows, under H. Kliebenstein from Germany.
At the Sighthound Association show, Jeremiah was again Best of Breed, and went on to take Runner-up Best in Show, under Swedish judge Tina Permo.
Jeremiah is the Number 1 living Multi-Specialty and
All Breed Best in Show-winning Saluki in Australia.
