Camryn's new pet is Peachfuzz. She's a hairless rat. She was born this way, she doesn't have a disease. It's a genetic anomaly. All of Peachfuzz's brothers and sisters are hairless, too. Peachfuzz is very sweet. She loves people and loves to be held and cuddled.

Camryn now has a new rat, Anna. Anna (who is a white rat with fur) came into our family in an unusual way. We have a python, you see, that eats rats. We bought Anna to feed to the python. She was just a little too big, however, and the snake refused to eat her. She stayed in the cage for days before Camryn took pity on her and removed her and put her in the cage with Peachfuzz.

The next morning we found out why Anna had been so big. She had given birth during the night to seven tiny baby rats! We found Peachfuzz cowering in the corner, all scratched and beat up. We had to remove Anna and the babies and put them in their own cage.

Peach Fuzz passed away on the last day of the year, 2000. 1
