Travelling to the Royal Christening Party
The Story
You are working in a foreign land but still very loyal to your own country. I am pleased to be the one to give you the wonderful news that a Royal baby has been born, who is heir to the throne. All citizens are invited to the grand Christening party. You may be excused from your work to start your preparations straight away.
The Clues
1)What will you wear for the christening? Draw a suitable outfit (with hat and shoes) and collect NATURAL items to show what colours will be used to make it. Show your design to the one who looks after your health for her approval
2) Using only items you already own or can easily find, make a gift for the royal child. Show this to the own who usually provides your food, for her approval.
3) Set off on your journey following the footsteps of earlier travellers. As you walk make up a song beginning 'Rock a bye baby next to the stream'
Take the gift with you.
4) It will be dark soon. Make a lamp that you can hang up and carry. Show it to the gatekeeper for approval.
5) Take 40 paces towards 10 o'clock - find a hiding place, then open the envelope.
OFFICIAL NOTICE - Because of the danger of infection, all visitors must serve a period of Quarantine outside the castle. Time served will be decided by the king. No arguments with the king BY ORDER.
6) In envelope. The king does no know you are in Quarantine outside the castle. Tie your tokens (wool) one piece at a time to the flagpole to let the king know you have arrived. You must stay hidden from the guards who will treat you badly.
7) The king is pleased to see his citizens have arrived safely. Royal guards have been dismissed for the day. Come forward and present your gifts and entertainment (song)
