This
section is where I will update you on (hopefully) progress I make in this site. From
the beginning agony of trying to figure out what to put in it, right up to current
additions and struggles with code and design.

Gosh this is a difficult thing to do - creating a home page I mean. I've been
looking so forward to the time when I could sit and put some thought into a home
page. And here I am....drawing a blank! So I think I'll keep it
brief and try to add pieces of interest to everyone.

Now I'm getting more interested in the actual presentation of the information, than
the information itself.
In May, 1998 I revamped the whole look of the
site. Funny how every time you look at something you see room for improvement.
I didn't want to use frames because that would
exclude those with browsers that didn't support frames, so kept the frames only to the
shooting section.
I used tables to add a bar down the left with
links to all the pages, to be helpful to the reader. Then I soon realized that every
time I wanted to add a new section I'd have to fix the bar on every page. There's
just no winning :-)
So...although it may be a little inconvenient to
you to have to constantly go back to the site map to navigate it gives me mucho
flexibility to keep adding and adding to the site. I tried to keep the site map page
small with few graphics so the load time would be reasonable for you.
June, 1998
Today (June 23rd) I added to the "Art to Contemplate" section.
Pictures of ripples and waves that will let your mind wander to nice places, and pictures
of children that will melt your heart :-)

Darn. I just discovered that the table background code that I used on all
of my pages doesn't work with Netscape. You know what that means. Anyone
viewing with Netscape couldn't see anything on the page save a few minor links and such.
I created all these pages using table backgrounds
to offset the black page background. It really did look good. Anyway....I just
finished fixing every page of this darn site :-(
Do ya like the colour of this table? I found
a great page that provides all the code you need for non-dithering colours.
Non-dithering in layperson terms means almost everybody will see the same colour no matter
what browser they're using. If you're interested it's here. Thanks Lynda.com

During the development of this site I did lots of site-seeing and found some great
resources. At first I thought not to add them because they are so easy to find I
wouldn't be doing any great service by listing them. Then after talking to a number
of people that I know it seemed that they were interested in finding out more about things
like meta tags, banner exchanges, where to find good graphics, music, etc. So...I
just added a page called "My Web Travels" that leads to a real variety of good
resources.

Happy New Year!!! I added a photos page to this site. I think it gives it
that personal touch. It was a lot of fun. Now I know how to scan pictures,
touch them up and frame them using a graphics package. Wow - this is fun.
