A while back I attended a meeting to demonstrate
something via the Internet. After the demonstration one of the participants who was
really keen on the technology came and spoke to me.
We shared tips, he showed me some of the fancy software
he had on his laptop. I told him about this really good site I found on the web and
opened my list of bookmarks to take him there. When he saw all the folders I have
set up his eyes grew wide. I have about 22 folders with anywhere from 2 to 30
bookmarks in each.
He said "boy, I'd like to see all your bookmarks
sometime". I was flattered because it meant that he was interested in what I
found interesting and wanted to find out more from me. I had something worthwhile to
offer someone :-)
So...that's why I created this page. To share
with everyone some of the interesting info/resources I've found on the web.
Here's a little tip for ya
When I first started looking around I would spend hour after hour just going from site to
site following any link that looked interesting. I finally discovered that I was
letting myself get too side-tracked, never getting around to finding what I started out
looking for. Does this sound familiar?
To avoid this I set up a special folder, I
called it abc. Now when I am looking for something in particular and I stumble
across a link that's off topic but looks interesting, I quickly go to the site and
bookmark it in my abc folder, then get back to what I set out to do. Later, when I'm
just browsing I check out the sites I have bookmarked in abc. If they're good I move
them to the appropriate folder for future reference.
