Here is a copy of the PAINTHORSE-L FAQ, in a handy place where we can all find it when we need it!!!

        This FAQ will go out at least once a month, generally on the first of each month.

        Mail Options and Settings:

        LEAVING THE LIST: You may leave the list at any time by sending a "SIGNOFF PAINTHORSE-L" command to LISTSERV@HOME.EASE.LSOFT.COM.

        TO SEE THE MESSAGES YOU POST: Send a "SET PAINTHORSE-L REPRO" command and LISTSERV will send you a copy of your own messages, so that you can see that the message was distributed and did not get damaged on the way.

        TO SKIP THE MESSAGES POSTED BY YOU: Send a "SET PAINTHORSE-L NOACK NOREPRO" command.

        TO RECEIVE MAIL IN DIGEST FORM Send a SET PAINTHORSE-L DIGEST command TO THE LISTSERV.

        TO GO NOMAIL: Send a " SET PAINTHORSE-L NOMAIL" command to the LISTSERV

        DO'S AND DON'T(S) OF THE LIST:

        DO introduce yourself to the list. Tell us about your horses, what you like to do with them.

        DO ask questions! The only stupid ones are the ones not asked.

        DO stay on topic. If you start to stray please add an OBpainthorsey to the end (just something about your horse that relates to the list).

        DO have a good time here. There is a lot of information to be had and lots to share.

        DON'T send any private email to the list! If it comes to you privately it is to stay private.

        DON'T send any single one line "me too" type message or use excessive quoting of someone else just to add "I agree" at the end.

        DO quote a portion of the email that you are replying to IF you are replying to someone, remember not everyone reads the list at the same time and it just makes it easier to follow a conversation.

        NO personal confrontations will be allowed to continue on the list, if you have a serious bone to pick with someone on a non list issue..PLEASE take it to private email, this is not fair to others.

        DON'T send attached files to the list, especially graphic files. Many people cannot read them and some people have to pay for d/l time. If you have a picture that you would like to share with the list post your address and have people request them PRIVATELY. You will only be warned ONCE on this one.

        DON'T advertise products/services/horses for sale to the general list. The Marketplace (which goes out on Thursdays) is the place to do that. A casual mention of a horse you might have for sale or that you are an authorized dealer for XYZ Company is okay. However, continued posts about the horse/product does constitute advertising. You should handle any inquiries about the horse/product off-list. DO NOT post pricing or shipping information to the list. That should be posted in the Marketplace. Send this information to Michele Gallegos. ) and she will place it in the appropriate section of the MarketPlace. The first time you violate this rule a warning will be issued, the second time will result in a monitering of message posting privileges for 30 days, a third violation will result in the suspension of all list privileges.

        Additionally..if you have ads posted in the Marketplace and leave the list your ads will be deleted until your return to the list....this is a benefit of list membership...please do not try and circumvent this by having friends place ads for you AFTER leaving the list... Thanks..

        DONATIONS: The list is funded by members donations. If you would like to contribute to the maintainence of the list please e-mail horseiq@aol.com...... At the end of each quarter a financial statement will be made available to the list showing any debits made to the account and the number and amount of donations made each month (if any). Donations are totally voluntary! Donations can be send to:
