Creating a Shortcut to Notepad in Your SendTo Folder
Okay, so this page isn't anything much to look at, but I wanted to make a quick
tutorial about this because it's easier than telling it over and over!
Once you have done this, all you will have to do is right-click any HTML file and
you will be able to choose to open it in Notepad. It's a very handy shortcut to have
if you plan to do much web page building!
- Open Windows Explorer by right-clicking your Start button and choosing Explore.
- In the left pane, scroll down to the Windows folder. If there is a + next to it, click it to
make it a -.
- Scroll down till you see the SendTo folder.
- Now scroll back up to the Windows folder and click it to display the
files in the right pane.
- Scroll down past the folders to the files and locate notepad (notepade.exe) and have it showing in the right pane.
- Go back to the left pane and scroll back down till the SendTo folder is showing.
- Now right-click the Notepad file and hold down the mouse button while you drag the file to the
left pane over top of the SendTo folder and release the mouse button.
- In the menu that pops up choose: Create ShortCut Here.
That's it! Now go to any of your HTML files and right-click. You should see something that says
SendTo. When you pass your mouse over it, you should see Notepad in the list. Select it and your file
should open, ready to edit!
P.S. If you want to print this and don't want the color, in your printer's Properties box, choose to Print In Greyscale.
