GOOD MORNING LORD
I can hear the ringing of the hammer
as the mob so scornfully cried,
"Give us Barrabus, Crucify Jesus",
all their shouts heard far and wide,
Clouds were darkened, at the midday,
as the sun from view did go-
giving way to God's beloved
for God loved his child you know.
He hung on the cross, with crowd's watching,
His accusers were happy, other hearts seemed to burst,
as the mob cried, "Hail King Jesus",
to his accusers he said "I Thirst",
Vinegar and gall, the mob did give him,
but he refused their offer there,
He said "Father will you forgive them",
his heart was broken for he did care.
He could have called ten thousand angels,
He could have called all heaven's host,
But he said, "Father have you forsaken me?",
He looked toward heaven and gave up the ghost.
But on the third day as He promised,
He'd return to earth like he had said,
rising victorious over death's power,
He arose as he'd spoken from the dead.
Now all of hell's power was shaken
as satan thought, His power he'd seize,
but Jesus came back to the earth victorious,
and in His hand He held the keys.
Death and hell he did now conquer
for sin's sting he took away on the cross,
my Jesus paid this He went before us,
for he paved the way for the lost.
Down thru all time, my Jesus visioned
all the souls of sinful men
that would turn their souls from sinful pleasures,
to free their life from every sin......
MILDRED STAMEY
He stood alone In Pilot's Hall, The mob said, "Crucify,
they scourged His precious bleeding back and led Him up to die,
They placed the thorns upon His head,in mockery that day.
A purple robe they put on Him "Hail to the King", they did say,
He bore His cross up Calvary's hill,
such shame he had to bear,
This treatment He received for love, they laughed and scorned Him there.
They nailed Him to the cross, with a thug, the cross went in the ground,
His flesh tearing from His precious body,
but he never made a sound,
Then He cried out to his Father,
"Why hath Thou forsaken Me?"
But His Father knew His mission was to win the victory.
Then the earth began to quake,
for the time had been far spent;
for our Lord had won the victory, then the veil of the temple was rent.
But on the third day as He promised,
He came back like He had said.
He rose victorious over death's power, as He came back from the dead.
So this promise that He made us, He'd come back to claim His own.
For He cleared our way to glory,
Now we have a right to a heavenly home.
MILDRED STAMEY
When God made the earth, and He saw It was good,
He needed someone to see over the land.
so He made this form and He blew breath in it
and He called His creation, man,
God saw His creation would be lonely,
so He put his creation to sleep,
He took a rib from his side,
and when he awoke
God had made him a help mate.
He named all the fish and the birds
and all the animals on that day.
Every tree that was in the garden,
was at his command to go or to stay.
There was a tree in the midst of the garden,
God commanded them not to eat or to touch,
for the price of their disobedience
was a price to pay, too much.
They would be thrown out of the beautiful garden,
never ever to return again;
Sweat of the brow, and the curse on the Woman,
was the price that they paid for their sin.
But for this sin that they had committed,
God made the first sacrifice;
to slay the animals ,and make skins for a covering
to hide the shame of their life.
So this should be a lesson to teach us,
to always obey God's command,
and never ever go against God's teachings
But always let Him hold to our hand.
MILDRED STAMEY
You pray for rain and wonder why
a drop won't fall from the sky.
Could God be telling us to stop and pray,?
take time to talk to me to day?
"I'll listen my child, I'm always here".
I want your company, I can see your tears;
But you must ask, I won't intrude,
For I would never force you, that would be rude,
But take time to talk to me today;
I sent the sunshine down your way.
I strung the stars up in the sky,
So just ask Me, you know I'm standing by......
MILDRED STAMEY
"Daddy, I never understood, Why we'd go so much as a child?
We'd go and sing at revivals, night after night
At eight or ten while you're in school,It really seemed so hard;
We'd be singing while the other children we're playing in the yard,
I know you tried to mold us, into the way you'd want us to be;
But you know Daddy, how children are, we were jolly and carefree.
We didn't realize at the time, you were doing this for our own good.
We tried to be patient, But not many children could.
I look back on all those days, that happened in yesteryear;
and long for the time as children, We were all huddled near,
And how daddy would go at the drop of the hat,to help someone in need,
and give his time and the very last cent for some hungry soul to feed.
He would start out on the road, with not a penny in his jeans,
and trust the Lord to supply the need, by someone who had the means,
I look back as we were called, for many funerals to sing, and every time
we'd go to help, lift their spirits, our voices would ring
Oh, for the days to be like that again, it would mean so much to me,
But Dad I know you'll be waiting for us, beside the Crystal Sea.
With guitar in hand and your song books out,
Waiting for your Family,
I wrote this in memory of my daddy Rev.Roy Shelton who has been an
inspiration to me and a Wonderful Daddy....He was born Sept 26,1906 and was
promoted to glory January 31,1979 (Ilove you Daddy).

While browsing around on this fine day,
no rain was seen in sight;
I glanced at all the tables,
with items of things to delight.
I looked very carefully over things that were there,
"This blouse will fit Aunt Gail".
But the greatest thing I ever found,
was bought today at a yard sale...
I looked and found this little book,
amidst all the rest;
the covers were all stained with age,
something compelled me to look at the rest.
I opened the book to see the wear,
that was worn out thru the ages,
to my surprise,were sparkling white,
but on the outside was lined with yellow pages.
It made me think of what Christ done,
A story that's gone thru the ages.
Encased inside this precious book
with love that's written down on these pages.
These stories that were written down with love,
were purchased for a mere quarter.
Lost souls that were wondering and passing the time,
to keep everything in order.
I wonder why, this person, who once owned this book,
could turn loose from this book,or could ever fail,
But I found a gold mine while strolling that day,
for a mere quarter, at a yard sale.

March wind has blown the April showers;
the rain washes the face of the earth.
A conception by Old Mother Nature,
To adorn the world with new birth.
The daffodil, the pansy and the crocus,
bring color to adorn her attire.
To show off her beauty that was sleeping,
hibernating safely under the stars,
A breath of Spring brings the robin strutting proudly,
for Mother Nature is busy with her work;
painting flowers on every hillside and every mountain,
never too busy or her duties never shirk,
When her work is complete and all is ready
and she sits back for her work will surely cease,
She'll win the prize the best of show to for all to see it
The Blue Ribbon, for her art "Her Masterpiece"
MILDRED STAMEY
Sneaky and subtle he lurks in the shadows,
and seeks out his luscious prey.
His cunning and sly entrapment
like a cowboy with his lariat at play,
Deceiving his adversaries,
and blinding them to his trickery;
just one strand at a time,
until they are woven into his tapestry.
satan is like that spider
weaving you up in his web;
blinding your eyes and deceiving your soul,
to his horrible hell,
Until our Blessed Redeemer
takes the veil of sin from your eyes;
Then you squash that deceiver under your foot
and tell him "That's what you get for telling me lies !"
MILDRED STAMEY
If Jesus came to your house today
would you invite Him In?
Or would you say to the Master
"You'll have to come again"
This time is not convenient;
we're busy with our chores,
another day would be much better,
and would you close the door ?
The Master is gently calling.
He wants you for a friend,
He paid the cost on Calvary
for all of the sinful men.
So if you feel Jesus knocking on your heart,
let Him take His abode inside.
The time is now, don't wait too long
while the door is open wide.
We have no promise He'll knock again
so cherish the time God gives;
and give Him your life and all of your time,
and your soul with Jesus will live.
MILDRED STAMEY
As a lad he walked in my footsteps,
every day he'd be close behind;
looking up to Daddy as his hero
nobody else was as good as mine.
Years go by those footsteps got slower
but the love I had never died.
Just the memories of that little boy
has made a great impression on my mind.
It reminds me of a venture I'd encountered,
as a child I stepped out on faith;
and I grasped the gold at the end of the rainbow,
The decision I alone had to make.
God has led me by faith, ever since that day,
decisions I have made on my own.
Those footsteps I followed as a child in my youth,
has led me to the foot of the cross....
MILDRED STAMEY
Wasted years, tortured children;
children suffering from neglect,
homes uprooted by such terror,
leaving minds a crippled wreck.
Watching earlier as we cradled
this cooing infant with much pride;
future dreams with great expectations
hurls our minds on a wild ride.
But time and memory won't erase it,
help from God Is the missing link.
Crying from our foolish decisions,
is a bitter pill to drink!
In the future things will be different,
but time will never erase the tears;
haunting memories of bad decisions
serenades our mind throughout the years.....
MILDRED STAMEY
I stood by as the potter,placed the clay on his wheel,
With his hands so firm and gentle,he molded the clay by it's feel,
With each turn of the wheel,and the Masters loving hand,
smoothing out all the rough places, marred by the error of human hands.
With each move the gentle pressure, molded into a vessel rare;
No two vessels were identical, never seeing an identical pair,
Tho' alike but very different, each had a design all it's own;
sitting in it's place of honor,like a king upon his throne,
We are vessels of the Master Potter, yielding to the Masters hand,
Yielding our life unto the potter, to form the vessels that He'd planned.
And when my vessel is completed, and thru the kiln of life,
I stand the test;
sitting in my place of honor, beholding the Father I will be blessed.
And when my race on earth is over,and my work on earth is done,
I will bask In Heaven's beauty, With God the Father and his Son.....
MILDRED STAMEY
I wonder why this had to happen?
Why did they have to die?
Struck down so young and so fragile;
blown out of the dark,Foggy sky.
They had plans they were Oh, so happy,
never thinking of where they would descend.
They were taking their last ride together
but oh,what a cruel end.
Friends were waiting for their arrival;
hoping to hear some good news,
but praying to God for their safety
for their life to be spared as He'd choose.
Our Nation waits and prays for their safety,
hoping all of their lives will be saved.
But this matter is In the Hands of an Almighty God,
for their safety, not a cold, dark grave.
I know we can't see in the future,
and I'm sure we don't know God's plan,
But to each of our lives it's appointed by our God,
His date to every man.
MILDRED STAMEY
Time is a mystery, it won't stand still,
So be careful how you use it,
not against God's will.
For it won't come back like it did before,
So if you won't take heed, He could close the door.
Remember old Noah In this world so dark ?
He preached the word as he built the ark.
The time came when God's mercies ended;
it grieved God's heart, but time wasn't extended.
If it was in my power to turn back the time
I might not do you justice, so please keep this in mind:
Human power will fail you, so put your trust in Him,
He will never fail you when your path Is dim.
BESSIE HANEY SHELTON
Each day I spend my quiet time with God
He listens but He talks to me.
He listens to all my complaining
of all the problems that I see.
When I think there's no solution
I just open God's Holy Word;
I see where he feeds the sparrows
yes every voice is heard.
When the enemy seems to be closing in,
Our faith seems to falter and stray.
We cry out to God and in our darkest hour;
Sunshine brightens our day.
He says ,I parted the waters,
I fed the hungry that would perish with defeat.
By faith I locked the jaws of the lions,
they had no interest in which to eat.
So If you seem to get discouraged,
Just look up to God, don't fear,
And enjoy your quite time alone with God,
Just to know that His presence Is near.
MILDRED STAMEY
Time is swiftly passing,
could this be the day,
That our Lord will come back to earth
He'll come He won't delay,
If you've not made plans to leave,
Please turn to God right now,
And ask God to save your sinful soul
While you still have time to bow,
We've tried all the sinful pleasures
that once seemed to satisfy;
But these pleasures that you hold on to
Won't help you when you die,
So please won't you take this warning?
let Jesus save your soul;
He'll be the truest friend you could ever have,
And he'll lift your heavy load.....
MILDRED STAMEY
Wouldn't you like to live your life over?
How different things would be,
The obstacles that kept me looking back,
That halted my growing to maturity
I would look at all the mistakes I have made,
I'd turn everything around;
I could see all the friends I could have had,
with a smile instead of a frown.
You can grow sometimes by looking back,
On things that haappened yesterday-
And know the things that happened In your life,
was Just milestones along the way.......
MILDRED STAMEY
A little girl came to her mom ,
with big tears in her eyes,
She'd fallen down and skinned her knee,
"It hurts so mommy, She cried"!
Her momma kissed away the tears
and placed a Band-aid on the hurt;
To my surprise such magic this did,
right before my eyes,
If we had a quick fix,
for all our aches and pains,
Just like that sure-cure band-aid,
We'd never want again.
We bring to God our tattered life,
So bruised with scars of hate,
Our mixed up jig-saw puzzle life
seems hopeless,no hope just fate,
Our stubborn will, our selfish pride,
unloaded at his feet.
The change from rags to riches
has made my life complete......
MILDRED STAMEY
When you point at your Brother,
When you see He's in the wrong
And your faults don't seem to matter,
You can't see the faults of your own,
Could you turn around this Picture-
And put your yourself In your Brothers shoes,
And feel the hurt that he might feel,
If confronted by someone like you,
The Beam in your eyes hides the vision,
God might be trying to make you see
If you keep praying for your Brother
Instead for looking for faults ,like me,
Weigh each word Instead of speakin,
think this out before you do,
for If you point your finger at your Brother,
Remember there's three
pointing back at you...
MILDRED STAMEY
A friend In need Is a friend Indeed,
When they're down on their luck and feeling blue,
When they Pray for you, Without being asked to,
When your strength seems to give out on you,
Never fear my dear Friend,
You'll be repaid again,
For his word tells us It's true,
When we do unto others,as we'd have them do unto us,
"He'll do the same to you".....
MILDRED STAMEY
God places people In our path,
as we go through this life,
To lift our spirits and calm our fears
and heal the storms of life..
You may be suffering from abuse
From lonliness or a broken heart,
You think no-one cares for you-
So why Should anyone start?
But God knows what you need,
even before you ask,
He just wants you to look to him,
And let him share your task
God has got his Guardian Angel,Placed In your path
He knows where you're going, He knows where you're at
He knows you need a shoulder to cry on,
everybody needs a friend,
No man Is an Island, He knows who to send,
When you think that no one loves you
just think things over today
The Sun will break through,the dark clouds of grey
and will drive all those dark clouds away...
MILDRED STAMEY
Nestled In the blue Ridge Mountains,
By the French Broad's flowing streams,
running Idle thru the valley,
It's a Heaven on earth It's not a dream.
No other place I'd dare to venture,
could meaasure up to my home town,
Tho' small enough, but ever growing,
In size and Beauty all around,
The People In our town are friendly,
they help their Neighbor's In any way,
If ones In need, they help the other,
"Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you they'd say",
The Waterfall's and Music Center,
People comes from miles around,
To hear the Music flowing freely,
carried by the breeze of the sound,
If you're a Visitor,Or on Vacation,
enjoy the scenery and join the pack,
for after you've traveled all over the country,

Looking over Autumn's Hillside,
It Is such a pretty view-
No painting on an Artist's easel
could steal your mind,your thought's ensue,
These colors soon would sure enrapture,
making words so obsolete,
That no Artist could paint this picture
all other tries would be defeat.
No Van-Gogh or Rembrandt painting,
could ever match the colors near
To enrapture men down thru the ages
this painting by God could bring a tear,
We are so blessed to be the recipient,
painted by the Masters hand,
for all to view the magnificeent beauty
for all mankind throughout the land..
MILDRED STAMEY
I looked out of my window,
after the storm clouds passed-
and on the grey Horizon, was a picture painted fast,
I could see God's handiwork all painted in a row,
for on the canvas of the sky,He'd painted a Rainbow,
It made my mind go back in time,to a promise that God had made
The next time won't be water,for all the plans are laid,
God said It will be fire instead- but friends don't hesitate,
For If you're not ready,when he comes-
You'll be left outside the gate....
MILDRED STAMEY
We get out of bed every morning,
He watched over us safely through the night
His Angel's surrounded my bedside,
keeping everything safe and allright...
We rise from our bed never thinking,
all ready to start a new day
Just hurry and get things accomplished
never thinking one moment to pray...
we go to work very early
always early never late we're on time,
our week goes fast but no thought of tomorrow,
We'll be too sleepy, when the church bells chime,
God's time clock is constantly ticking
Will we be on time,or will we be late,
just remember the price Jesus paid that day
"If we put up excuses, what would be our fate"....
MILDRED STAMEY
He hears every cry,
each heart,every race-
He listens for His children
In every place
He see's all the hardships
Please keep this in mind,
God looks on the heart
For He's not colorblind,
Black,yellow,red or white,
they're all to Him the same,
Man limits his knowledge
but for each, Jesus came-
tho' men looks with their eyes
So keep this in mind,
God looks on the heart
For He's not colorblind....
MILDRED STAMEY
I watched It falling gently
as It landed so with grace
Sashaying to it's destination
like White Chantilly Lace,
It covered all the mountain side
and all the valley's green
The sight I saw was Magnificent
It was such a pretty scene
No words could ever describe the scene
Nor'paint with colors rare,
A Picture like this you'd never find
for nothing could compare
I'm glad I viewed this with my Heart
For I could never tell
Or speak the words that flood my soul
would be a hollow shell.
For I could never speak the words
To tell of this great bliss
For God looked down on earth today
and planted us a kiss.....
MILDRED STAMEY
Good morning Lord,I just wanted to thank you,
for watching over me through the night
for hovering over us while we slept
and kept us in your sight,
I just wanted to say I love you Lord,
for God you know I care;
And I hope O Lord to be a blessing to someone
To show them I'll be there....
Now the shades of night are slowly falling,
and It's time for me to rest,
I kneel and thank you for the day
you have been an honored guest.
So as I curl up in my bed to sleep,
and reminisce of everybody in sight-
I just thank you Lord for all your blessings
And blessed Lord I'll say goodnight"...
