I have had this set since the early seventies. The set is complete except that it does not have any track with it. It does include the original track power clip. Everything is original, except that the cord on the transformer has been replaced with as close to original type as possible.

     The set box is included and has the number 5926 on the side. The box is solid with all the original inserts in it, including the original cardboard sleeve for the observation car. There is some minor damage on the lid, mostly on the upper right hand corner where some of the outer cardboard has been rubbed off.

     The number 500 locomotive has a small scratch on top of the boiler behind the smokestack. It is thin and about one inch long. There is also a small scratch on top of the boiler in front of the sand dome. It is about one eighth of an inch long. There are also a few paint chips on the cowcatcher. The side rods are not rusted and look as good as new. There is only the slightest superficial rust on the hook coupler and handrails.

     The observation car has one small scratch on the right side of the frame about three eighths of an inch long. It has about three small one eighth of an inch at the most, scratches on the roof. All other cars are virtually scratch free.

     The only rust is the above mentioned and maybe the same superficial on hook couplers of some of the cars. The scratches and rust are so insignificant, that they are hardly worth mentioning, but I am trying to be as honest as I can. There are no dents or dings. I have tried to show as much in pictures as possible.

     Everything in the set is guaranteed to work. The locomotive runs. The transformer works. The clicker in the antiaircraft gun car works when you turn the handle. The tank car windup mechanism works and the spark wheel still emits some sparks out of its gun when it is running. All lights work in the locomotive, trail car and the search light car.

     This set has a reserve on it based on its condition, completeness, and price and condition of similar military sets selling on “E” bay within the last month or so. I guarantee that this set is in high collector quality condition.
