These two little girls are supposed to be Ethel Cowsert Doggett and Maria Cowsert, per the back of the photo.
I believe "Cowsert" is not the correct surname for Maria because Ethel, born in 1900, is supposed to be the first Cowsert child born to Wilda. Maria may be a Soward (Wilda's first marriage)
Maria died at the age of five (per Pauline Phillips, Wilda's granddaughter). I don't think the older girl looks at all like pictures of Ethel I have seen; she definitely looks like her mother, Wilda Banks Soward Cowsert (see photo below). The smaller child has the "Cowsert" look, in my opinion.
I don't know when the photograph was taken, but guess about 1905-10. For no particular reason, I believe the older girl is Verbie or Vergie Soward and the younger one may be Lulu Cowsert ... a name I have heard mentioned, but cannot place.
