It's been our bread and butter for the last 22 years! I enlisted in the U.S. Air Force right out of high school, and was assigned for 4 years at Keesler AFB, Mississippi. That's were Lyle and I met, and were married. I was managing the FishBowl Coffee House and he had just finished technical training as a Chapel Manager/Administrator. When the kids started to come along, we decided it would be best for our family if only one us had to get up in the middle of the night for military recalls! I settled down into my new life as a military wife (oops, they call us 'family members' now.) I was a stay-at-home mom (part-time college student) for 10 years, until both girls started school. With long, lonely days at home with no one to watch cartoons with, it didn't take me long to want to go back to work. Yep! I'm now working for the Air Force again, only this time as a civilian! U.S. Air Force Home Page Over the years we've been stationed at 6 Air Force bases, the last one being
Lajes Field, Azores, Portugal. Lajes is a great place for military families. We really enjoyed our 3 years there on the scenic island of Tercera and made lots of friends in its small-town atmosphere.

Currently, we're stationed at beautiful
Robins AFB, Georgia, USA. It's here that we plan to retire and finally settle into a permanant home. Traveling with the military has certainly been fun and exciting, but Dorothy said it best with "There's no place like home."
