They say you never quite get over your first dog. That is true of us and our Shiner. He passed away in 2002 at nearly 13 years of age and left a big hole in our hearts. Shiner was one of those dogs where the world was his oyster. He loved life and everything in it. He brightened up our dark Alaskan nights with his twinkling eyes and wagging tail. We were able to freeze several breedings from him, so nearly a year after he left us, he was bred to Kiska. Knowing that frozen breedings are not very reliable, Kiska was also bred to G'kar, Shiner's grandson. G'kar is a son of a Best in Show winning dam and a Best in Specialty Show winning sire. G'kar is outrageous and always into trouble. He has a well developed sense of humor (and luckily, we do too!). He's sparkling white with the blackest, most mischievious eyes we've ever seen. His headpiece is truly a work of art and the most correct FCI type of head we've ever seen on a male kuvasz. He is over 30" at the shoulders with amazing floating movement and is the most athletic dog we've ever had. On September 6th, 2003, Kiska gave birth to 6 girls and 5 boys. Who's the dad? Luckily, AKC has a state of the art DNA program. When the pups were one week old, DNA samples were sent in and in 30 days we should know the results. Stay tuned. Either way, the pups are a joy. Owners will be provided with a complete DNA profile on their pups. We are still taking reservations on puppies that will be ready to go in November.
