Francis Foley Mass of the Christian burial for Francis Foley of Carroll will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Ann Church in Vail. Mr. Foley, 82, died Monday, Dec. 13, 1993, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. The Rev. Lloyd White and the Rev. Victor Ramaeker will be concelebrants of the service. Gift bearers will be Mr. Foley's children. Lectors will be his granddaughter, Renee Wilcox, and Sister Patricia Glass. Casket bearers will be Jim Calder, John G. Lawler, John P. Lawler, William Lawler, Francis Lawler and Jim Foley. Friends will call after 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Twit Funeral Home in Carroll, where a rosary will be held at 3 p.m. and a Christian wake service followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary will be held at 7 p.m. He was born Jan. 19, 1911, at Westside, a son of George and Cornelia (Cuddy) Foley, and graduated from Westside High School. He and Helena Fay were married June 21, 1941, at St. Joseph Church in Carroll with Monsignor Lynch officiating. Mr. Foley was a farmer and livestock dealer. He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife, Helena Foley, of Carroll; four children, Madonna Wilcox of San Antonio, Texas, Sister Kieran Foley of Meriden, Conn., and Mary Gorman and Joe Foley, both of Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Melvin Foley, of Mason City; two sisters, Genevieve Foley and Edna Foley, both of Carroll; and a granddaughter, Renee Wilcox. Mrs. Foley, 92, died Sunday, Oct. 6, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll. The Rev. John Thomas will preside at the Mass. Lectors will be Joe Foley ad Renee Wilcox. There will be a vigil service at 7 Tuesday night at the funeral home. A daughter of Andrew and Margaret (Monahan) Fay, she was born Nov. 21, 1909, in Churdan. She graduated from Churdan High School and received a teaching certificate from Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She taught for four years until developing rheumatic fever and was forced to retire. She also worked for the Greene County Superintendent of Schools Office and the Greene County Supervisors Office. She and Francis Foley were married June 21, 1941, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Carroll by Monsignor Patrick Lynch. The Foleys lived on the family farm north of Westside from 1942 to 1990 when they moved to Carroll. Mrs. Foley moved fo Orchard View in 1990. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas in Carroll. Survivors include three sisters: Madonna Foley of San Antonio, Texas, Sister Kieran Foley FSE of Meriden, Conn., and Mary Foley Gorman of Kansas City, Mo.; a son, Joe Foley, and his wife, Carla, of Independence, Mo.; two granddaughters; and a brother-in-law, Melvin Foley, of Mason City. Mrs. Foley was precede in death by her parents; her husband, Francis, in 1993, three sisters, Rachael Finnegan, Florence Fay and Emma Marie Fay; a son-in-law, Richard Gorman; and two sisters-in-law: Edna Foley and Genevieve Foley.
