Charles E. O'Donnell Charles E. O'Donnell 79, was born on April 12, 1901 in Crawford county, Iowa, the son of Charles M. and Katherine Foley O'Donnell. He died on Thursday p.m., September 25, 1980 at Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa. He was raised on a family farm. He received his education in rural schools near his home. After making his home in California, he entered the U. S. Army during World War II. Later he made his home in Oakland, California. On July 3, 1949 he was united in marriage to Josephine Pepitone at Oakland. They continued to live in Oakland where he worked in the ship yards. After Mrs. O'Donnells death in December 1968, he moved to Holister Mo. where he retired. Due to ill health, he entered the Denison Care Center in July of 1980. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Alice Walde and Edith O'Donnell and 1 brother, James. Survivors include one brother, John K. O'Donnell of Omaha and three sisters, Mrs Lillian Judson, Miss Esther O'Donnell and Mrs. Claire Buck all of Omaha. Also by 11 nieces and nephews including Michael Buck of Vail, Maxine Walde of Denison and Marjorie Knott of Carroll. Funeral services were held on September 27, 1980 at 10:30 a.m. at St Ann's church in Vail. Burial was in St. Ann's cemetery. Father Paul-Louis Arts officiated at Mass and graveside. Pallbearers were Reed, Brad, Jeff, and Doug Knott, John and Dennis Higgins. A rosary service was held at 8 p. m.
