David E. & Fannie Gilchrist Obituaries Lyman Morrison Obituary David E. Gilchrist was born in the County of Kirkpatrick Fleming, Scotland on the 4th day of February 1860 and died November 20th 1898. He was 38 years, 9 months and 16 days old. He embarked to America in the spring of 1870 and was married to Fannie Patterson Dec. 7, 1882. He united with the Church of Christ in 1883. A wife and six children, one brother, a sister and a host of friends mourn his loss. We are called upon to mourn the loss of a brother, but our loss is his gain. For weeks he has been weary and needs the rest. The funeral services were from the Church of Christ conducted by the pastor. The local Modern Woodman lodge of which he was a member acted as pallbearers and laid the body away. Another home is sad and there is another vacant chair never to be filled again. Our number is broken and one by one they are passing over to receive the reward of a Christian. Our prayers are for the widow and orphans that they may be ever protected and led to the happy reunion above in Christ. After the death of David E. Gilchrist the local Woodman lodge loses the first member since it was organized about eleven years ago. This is certainly a good record. The local lodge has been very kind and attentive during the long illness of their brother, and have manifested the fraternal teachings of their order in a manner that has attracted favorable public attention.
