Heart Attack Fatal to Mrs. Frank Beaulieu -------- One of Northwest's Early Pioneers, She Saw Much of the Territorys Development -------- Elizabeth Agnes Beaulieu, beloved wife of the late Frank Beaulieu, passed away at the family home here at 4:15 a.m. Friday morning, September 9, 1938, at the age of 89 years, the immediate cause of death being a heart attack after an illness of five days. Deceased was born February 20, 1849, at Frankford, Kentucky, the daughter of Daniel and Mary Lawlor. She was married October 23, 1871, at DeWitt, Iowa, and was a resident of Graceville for 35 years. Survivors are one daughter, Sister Rosella of Cheyenne, Wyoming; five sons, Louis of Hollywood, California, Leo of Los Angeles, California; Pius of Austin, Minn.; Eugene and Thomas of Graceville, 11 grandchildren; four great grandchildren and a brother, Dan Lawler who resides at Dewitt, Iowa. Mrs. Beaulieu was one of the gearly pioneers who came to the great northwest when the country was new, and saw the development of the country from the days of ox-team transportation to the more modern airplane. A much beloved character, rich in kindness, love of home and children, and one whom it was a blessing to know. Her religious faith was unbounded and her hope in immortality a benediction to all who knew her. The funeral was held at the Holy Rosary church at 9 a.m. September 12, with Rev. P. J. O'Connor officiating and interment made in the family lot in Lakeside cemetery. The pallbearers were Geo. F. Studdart, P. E. Broderick, A. E. Broderick, A. E. Gallagher, A. R. Soube, Leroy Sorenson and George Crowe. Relatives and friends from some distance who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Lawler, Ames, Iowa; Mrs. Max Huber, Mrs. and Mrs. Jos Dolhoff, George, Alex, Edward and Frank Beaulieu of Sioux City; and Mrs. L. L. Kiffe and son of Mankato.
