OBITUARY: The Clinton Herald, Thursday March 30, 1995, p.9. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt, for Nellie Lawlor, 84, of DeWitt, who died Wednesday at DeWitt Community Hospital. The Rev. Robert Harness will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Nelson Funeral Home, DeWitt, where a 4 p.m. rosary will be recited by the altar and rosary society, and a 7 p.m. scripture service will be held. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Mrs. Lawlor was born July 11, 1910, in Welton, to Timothy and Nell Kearney Lawlor. She married Clem Lawlor, Oct. 21, 1941, in DeWitt. Mrs. Lawlor had attended Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, and had been employed with Iowa Mutual Insurance Company in DeWitt. She and her husband had farmed in the DeWitt area for 29 years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and its altar and rosary society. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. Survivors include a sister, Agnita Craig of DeWitt; a sister-in-law, Grace Crowley of Clinton; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and two sisters. Death date: March 29, 1995.
