Well Known Farmer Passes Away Monday Thomas Lawler, passed away at his home north of DeWitt at 10 p.m. Monday evening. He had been ill for the past three weeks and sustained a stroke last Tuesday, after which he steadily grew weaker. He was about 83 years of age and has been a resident in the vicinity of DeWitt for many years. He is survived by his wife, three sons, Daniel, Edward and Clement at home, three daughters, Sister Mary Loudes, Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Frank Dolan of Welton and Elizabeth at home; three brothers, Patrick of White Lake, S. D., Peter of Wall Lake, Ia., and Daniel Lawler of Welton, and one sister, Mrs. Frank Deanlieu of Graceville, Minn. Funeral services were held from St. Anne's Catholic church at Welton, with interment in St. Anne's Cemetery. The body is in Hanrahan funeral home, where services have been set at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Anne's church, Welton. The Rev. Paul Laffey, Sugar Creek pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception cemetery, Petersville. Mrs. Lawlor was born Mary Kingsley Feb. 7, 1863 in Dubuque county. She was married June 9, 1894 at Immaculate Conception church, Petersville, to Thomas Lawlor, who died in 1926. they farmed for many years north of here. Surviving are three daughters, Sr. Mary Lourdes of Mercy hospital, Dubuque, Mrs. Angela Dolan of Moline, Ill., and Mrs. McDonald; three sons, Daniel, Edward and Clement, all of DeWitt; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Nolan of Dubuque; one brother, Edward Kingsley of Vancouver, Wash., four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
