Mrs. Ed White Passes Away This community was saddened by the death of Mrs. Ed White, which occurred Sunday, Sept. 19 at St. Anthony's hospital in Carroll, after a short illness. Mrs. White was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Lawler and has resided in Jackson township practically all her life. She was a woman of kind and sunny disposition, honored and respected by all that knew her. Her death is an extremely sad one as besides her husband she leaves six small children without the care of a mother. The funeral, attended by many from here, was held Wednesday morning at St. Ann's church at Vail, Rev. J. J. Sullivan officiating. Burial was made in St. Ann's cemetery at Vail. --- West Side Journal Sept. 29, 1926 Denison Bulletin ---------------- Wife and Mother Laid To Rest Obituary of Mrs. Ed White Died Sunday, Sept. 19 at Carroll, Iowa News of the death of Mrs. Edward White which occurred at the St. Anthony hospital, Carroll, on Sept. 19, came as a great shock to relatives and friends here. Mary, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Lawler of Wall Lake, was born near Wall Lake, Iowa, April 1, 1887. There, on the farm, she grew to womanhood, and on Jan. 19, 1915, she was united in marriage with Edward White. Since then they have resided on a farm in Jackson Twp. Mrs. White was a noble Christian woman, kind of heart, and always ready to help the needy. She was a loving wife and mother and will be greatly missed in the home and the community. Surviving are the bereaved husband and six small children: Melvin, Pearl, John, Esther, Joseph and Lloyd; also her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Lawler of Wall Lake, two sisters, Sister M. Loyola of Dubuque and Mrs. Thos. Maher of Arcadia, and two brothers, Vincent Lawler of Wall Lake and John Lawler of Detroit, Mich. The funeral, attended by a large number of relatives and friends, was held from the home Wednesday morning with services at St. Ann's church, Rev. J. J. Sullivan officiating after which interment was made in St. Ann's cemetery at Vail. Malloy of Galva; and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kelly of Early. White Solemn Mass was offered at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, 1963 at St. Ann's Catholic church in Vail for Edward P. White, age 82, of Westside who died May 31, 1963. The celebrant of the mass was Rev. Lloyd White; deacon, Rev. Armand Elbert; sub-deacon, Rev. Jerome Coyle; master of ceremonies, Rev. D. L. Clark, pastor of St. Ann's Catholic church at Vail. Priests in sacristy for Edward White funeral: Msgr Newman Flanagan, Msgr E. C. Lilly, Father Reinhard Nemmors, Father Francis Memmors, Father William Devine, Father Peter Franaco, Father Louis Kollosch, Father Mason. Edward Patrick White, son of John and Mary King White was born on a farm near Westside June 2, 1880. In 1913 he was married to Mary Lawler of Wall Lake. Mr. and Mrs. White lived on the farm where he was born, raised and died. To this union six children were born. He is survived by his six children, Melvin of Charter Oak, Pearl, Mrs. Bryce Williams of San Francisco, Calif., John of Fremont, Neb., Esther of Denison, Joe of Westside and Father Lloyd of Sioux City. Seven grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Malloy of Westside, Mrs. Neil Rossman of Omaha, Neb., and Mrs. Gertrude Cuddy of Vail, several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, his parents, four brothers and one sister. Interment was made at St. Ann's cemetery in Vail.
