The Clinton Herald Tuesday October 21, 1941 p. 6 The wedding of Miss Nellie Lucille Crowley, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T.F. Crowley, and T. Clement Lawlor, son of Mrs. Mary Lawlor, all of DeWitt, was solemnized at 8 o'clock this morning in St. Joseph's Catholic church. The Rev. John Moriarty officiated at the ceremony and celebrated the nuptial mass. Sister M. Lenore presided at the organ, playing Carlo Rossini's Processional as the bridal party entered the church. She also presented a program of nuptial melodies during the mass. Rossini's Recessional was used at the close of the ceremony. Attending the couple were Miss Agnita Crowley, sister of the bride, and Ed Lawlor, brother of the bridegroom. Ushers were Joseph Crowley and Francis Kane, brother and brother-in-law of the bride. The bride wore a floor length gown of white sliper satin with lace insertions at the neckline and waist. Three similar insets extended into the long train. The shirred sleeves were puffed at the shoulder and tight from the elbow to wrist extending ub points over the hand. She wore a circular veil of nes held in place by a tiara of seed pearls. Her only ornament was a pearl necklace, a gift of the bridegroom. She carried an arm bouquet of white chrysanthemums and maline with white satin streamers. The bridesmaid was gowned in aqua chiffon with long full skirt over taffeta. She wore a long jacket of the same color. A rhinestone --- was a gift of the bride. She carried a miniature colonial bouquet of russet and gold pom poms and dahlias, with yellow maline, and wore a coronet of the same flowers. After the ceremony, a wedding breakfast was served to immediate relatives in the Crowley home. Covers were laid for 26. Mrs. Charles McAllister, Miss Blanche Lawlor and Miss Theresa Yegge assisted in serving. The bridal couple left on a brief trip. For traveling, Mrs. Lawlor wore a two piece suit of wine colored barclay with black accessories. The bride was graduated from St. Joseph's school and from Mt. Mercy Junior college. She has been employed by the Iowa Mutual Insurance Co. Mr. Lawlor attended the rural schools and St. Ambrose College, Davenport. The couple will live on the Lawlor farm north of DeWitt.
