Daniel F. Lawlor, Dies July 5, Other News of Welton Community Welton --- Funeral services for Daniel F. Lawlor, 83, were conducted at St. Ann's Catholic church at St. Ann's Catholic church, Welton, Tuesday morning at nine o'clock. The Rev. James A. Brady officiated. The pallbearers were Dan Lawlor, Vince Lawlor of Wall Lake, Edward Lawlor, Tom Maher of Carroll, Clem Lawlor and James Lawlor. Interment was in the Immaculate Conception cemetery, Petersville. Mr. Lawlor died at 7:30 Saturday evening, July 5, 1941 at his home three miles southeast of Welton after a brief illness. The body was removed to the Hanrahan funeral home in DeWitt. Obituary Daniel F. Lawlor was born January 28, 1858 in Washington township, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Lawlor. He was married to Sarah McGinty in DeWitt July 26, 1906. Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Louis at home and John of Camp Forrest, Tenn. He was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers. The DeWitt Observer July 10, 1941 ------------------- Final Rites for Sarah Lawlor, 70 at Welton Today Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Lawlor were conducted at St. Anne's church, Welton at 10 A.M. this Thursday morning. The Rev. James Grady officiated. The pallbearers were Oswald Bathalter, Leonard Hynes, John Hughes, Henry Hilbert, Tom Welch and Ben Reynolds. Interment was in the Immaculate Conception cemetery at Petersville. Mrs. Lawlor died Monday morning, February 22, 1943 at Mercy hospital, Davenport where she had been a patient for the last month. The body was removed to the Hanrahan funeral home in DeWitt and reposed there until this morning. Obituary Sarah McGinty was born 70 years ago in Washington township, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John McGinty. She was married in DeWitt July 26, 1906 to Daniel Lawlor who preceded her in death July 5, 1941. Surviving are two sons, John in the U.S. Army at Fort Warren, Wyoming and Lewis of Cedar Rapids; and one brother, Joseph McGinty in western Iowa. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Welton. Burial will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery , Petersville. Mr. Lawlor was born in DeWitt and was a retired farmer. He is survived by a brother John of Chicago.
