Funeral Services Held Monday for Leo B. Dunn, 62 WALL LAKE --- Funeral services for Leo B. Dunn, 62, cousin of Mrs. George Foley of Carroll, were held at 9:30 Monday morning at St. Joseph's church here, with the Rev. Fr. P. J. Dailey officiating at the requiem mass and delivering the sermon. Pallbearers were: Leo Downey, James McLaughlin, Joseph Cuddy, Clarence Rowan, William Lawler and John Kelly. Bierne and Maurice Bierne, Denison. * * * Mr. Dunn was born April 16, 1885, on a Jackson township farm. On January 26, 1921, he was married to Mary McLaughlin. Two children were born to them, Margaret, of Omaha, and Joseph, at home. Besided his wife and children, he leaves a brother, Clare, and a sister, Josephine, both of Jackson township. * * * His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Dunn, five brothers and one sister preceded him in death. MARY AGNES DUNN (Times Herald News Service) WALL LAKE -- Funeral rites were held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church here at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, for Mrs. Mary Agnes Dunn of Wall Lake, who died of a heart condition at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll Oct. 23. Requiem mass was offered by the Rev. T. J. Dailey, pastor. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery here. Pallbearers were Edwin Mally, Francis Foley, Ambrose Lawler, Clarence Rowan, Thomas Downey and Frank Terlisner. Mrs. Dunn (Mary McLaughlin) was the daughter of the late Bernard and Anna McLaughlin. She was born April 7, 1884 on a farm near Wall Lake. She was married to Leo B. Dunn January 26, 1921. Her parents, one sister and her husband preceded her in death. Mrs. Dunn leaves a daughter (Margaret) Mrs. Raymond Boes and a son, Joseph B. Dunn. Seven grandchildren also survive. They include Patricia Anne, Thomas, Michael, Daniel and John Dunn, Mary Elizabeth and Jean Marie Boes. She also leaves a brother, James P. McLaughlin and three sisters, Mrs. Susan Kelly, Nellie and Lydia McLaughlin, Wall Lake. Mrs. Dunn graduated from the Wall Lake High School and taught school in this community for a few years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and also a member of St. Joseph's Guild. Relatives and Friends attending the final rites included: Mr. and Mrs. Joseph L. Carroll, Iowa Times Herald Nov. 2, 1955 Raymond Boes Mass of the Christian burial for Raymond B. Boes, 77, of Wall Lake, was held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 24 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wall Lake. Mr. Boes died Monday, July 20, 1998 at Mercy Hospital Medical Centery in Des Moines. Visitation was held at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Wall Lake on Thursday witha rosary and wake service by the Foresters of Breda. Interment will be in the Wall Lake Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Bruening American Legion Post #507 of Breda. Ray was born on January 10, 1921 at Breda, Iowa, the son of Theodore and Anna (Schulte) Boes. He married Margaret Dunn on February 28, 1949 at St. Joseph's Church in Wall Lake. Ray & Margaret lived and farmed in the Breda area for 10 years. Ray purchased the McLaughlin family farm in March of 1958. He served in the U.S. Army in the countries of Australia, Japan and the Philippines. Ray was very active in his church community by serving as lay minister, usher, CCD teacher and rosary leader. He also was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and the American Legion Post #607 of Breda. He loved the land, the country, and his family. He thought the world of his wife, his daughters, his sons-in-laws and his grandchildren, spending many Sunday afternoons with his loved ones. His kindness will be greatly missed by all who was touched by it. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; daughters, Mary Boes of Waterloo; Jeanny (Denny) Hornick of Bayard; and Anne (Jim) Riesberg of Carroll; four grandchildren, Shantel and Amber Hornick and Zachary and Hannah Riesberg; two brothers, Albert (Hendriena) and Earl (Alice) all of Breda; two sisters, Mathilda Thelen and Rose Ludwig, both of Carroll; three sisters-in-law, Florence Boes and Marguerite Dunn, both of Carroll and Wilma Boes of Breda.
