Mary P. Griffin Escondido --- Mary P. Griffin, a five-year Escondido resident, died May 12 at a local hospital. She was 74. Born Jan. 3, 1919, in Hastings, Neb., she lived in Vista for 34 years before moving to Escondido. She had been a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, Harrison E. Griffin, sons James Griffin of Anchorage, Alaska, Joe Griffin of San Marcos and John Griffin of Vista; daughters Jane Moniot and Janice Wallace, both of Vancouver; brothers Dick Goodwin of Los Angeles, Jim Goodwin of Fallbrook and Frank Goodwin of Austin, Texas; sisters Lucille Sinclair of Vista and Jeannette Lilly of Port Hueneme Bay; and 10 grandchildren. Griffin Escondido --- Harrison E. Griffin, a five-year Escondido resident, died June 9 at his home. He was 77. Born Nov. 30, 1915, in Fort Benton, Mont., he lived in Vista for 34 years before moving to Escondido. He was an electrician with International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local No. 569. He served in the Marine Corps in World War II. He is survived by his sons, James Griffin of Anchorage, Ala., Joseph Griffin of San Marcos and John Griffin of Vista; daughters Jane Moniot and Janice Wallace, both of Vancouver, Wash.; brother Glen Griffin of Grand Island, Neb.; sister Ruth Cavanaugh of Hutchinson, Kan.; and 10 grandchildren. A funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Allen Brothers Mortuary -- Vista Chapel. Private cremation is planned. The mortuary is in charge of arrangements. She was born on March 6, 1930, in Los Angeles. Graveside services were held on Wednesday, April 7 at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, Culver City, Rev. Richard Rogers of the 1st Church of Religious Science in Fallbrook officiated. She is survived by her husband, James. F. Goodwin, of Fallbrook; two daughters, Constance M. Buwalda of Laguna Beach and Diane T. Goodwin of culver City; and one grandchild. Mrs. Goodwin was the manager of Coast Enameling Company for 10 years prior to retiring.
