ALUMNI DEATHS Eileen Kealy '36 Worden of Malibu, CA passed to eternal life August 10, 2005. Services were held in Malibu, CA. Eileen was born November 29, 1918 to Frank and Adeline Kealy in Hastings. She was a world-class athlete training for the canceled 1940 Olympics with practice times of 11.4 in the 100 meter dash, faster than the woman's record at the time. Three time State and Midwest AAU Diving Champ, Eileen received her bachelors degree at University of Nebraska, and taught at the University of N. Carolina. In 1943 she married Ralph Worden. Eileen was a WASP pilot during WWII. After graduating from basic training in Texas in February 1944, she went to Greenville Army Air Base in Greenville, Mississippi. Her duties included test piloting combat trainers before the planes were used to train army pilots, and she transported Army officers from base to base. She is survived by seven children, 14 grandchildren and one sister Mary Helen Kealy '44 Sheehy of Hastings. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, two children, six sisters and three brothers which include Loretta Kealy '35, Daniel Kealy '39 and Patricia Kealy '41 McMurray.
