GERALD F. LAWLER Gerald F. Lawler died on Wednesday, January 1, 1992, at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 65. Gerald was born on August 7, 1926, at rural Westside, Iowa, the son of George and Ethel (Downey) Lawler. He farmed in the Westside area and in later years was employed as a road construction worker. He served in the United States Army from 1945 to 1947 during the occupation of Germany. He is survived by a sister, Helen Walsh; two brothers, Francis Lawler and Robert Lawler, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles, in infancy; and a brother-in-law, Raphael Walsh. He was a member of the Alfred R. Rossman American Legion Post #196 of Westside, Iowa.
