Area Obituaries Helen Walsh VAIL, Iowa -- Helen Walsh, 94, of Omaha, formerly of Vail, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003, at Nebraska Skilled Nursing Rehab in Omaha. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ann Catholic Church in Vail. Burial will be in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today, with a Legion of Mary rosary at 4 p.m. and a wake service at 7:30 p.m., at Huebner Funeral Home in Denison, Iowa. Survivors include four sons, Denis Walsh and his wife, Marian of Omaha, the Rev. Patrick Walsh of Sioux City, Tom Walsh and his wife, Barbara of Lone Tree, Colo., and John Walsh and his wife, Diane of Vail; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Lawler and his wife, Tess of Omaha. Walsh, 75, of Vail who died Friday at Bergan Mercy Hospital at Omaha, Nebr. Services were held at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Vail with burial at St. Ann's Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were by the Huebner Funeral Home. Walsh was owner of Walsh Real Estate and Insurance in Vail at the time of his death. He was born Sept. 1, 1911, in Vail, the son of John T. and Alice (Coughlin) Walsh. He married Helen Lawler of Westside on Sept. 18, 1939, in Vail. Walsh was educated at St. Ann's Catholic School. His occupations included farm work, working for the Farm Credit Administration and farming in the Vail area. He was the manager of the Vail lumber yard from 1948 until 1960 when he started the insurance and real estate business. He was a longtime member of St. Ann's Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife; four sons, Denis of Omaha, the Rev. Patrick Walsh of Fort Dodge, John of Vail and Tom of Omaha; 17 grandchildren; and one sister, Mercedes (Mrs. John) Dolan of Cedar Rapids. Sept. 1, 1987 Denison Review
