Surviving are the parents; a brother, Tracy, and three sisters, Patty, Jolene and Mary Kay. Services were conducted at Bardy's Tuesday at 11 by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. D.J. Lenihan. Burial was in Mt. Hanson, son of Mr. & Mrs. Herbert Hanson, 271 Twelfth St. N.W., died in Korea on Sept. 26, his parents have been informed. Hanson was a private, first class, in the marine corps. He would have been 22 on Oct. 25.. Details on his death were not available. He was born in Cedar Rapids and attended St. Patrick's school. He enlisted in the marine corps in June 1946. Survivors, in addition to his parents, are four brothers, William J., Herbert T., Barney and Walter; and four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Fitzpatrick, Mrs. Cathryn Hayward and Mrs. Dorothy Anderson, all of Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Jerry Elias of Minneapolis. -------------------------------------------- The following article appeared in the Cedar Rapids Gazette on Thurs. May 24, 1951: MILITARY SERVICE FOR ROBT. HANSON SATURDAY MORNING Services for Pfc. Robert James Hanson, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert E. Hanson, 271 12th St. N.W., will be conducted in St. Patrick's church at 10:30 a.m., Saturday by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. D.J. Lenihan. Military services in Mt. Calvary cemetery will be conducted by the American Legion. The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday at the Brady mortuary, where friends May call. Former student at St. Patrick's school, Marine Pfc. Hanson enlisted June 15, 1946, and was discharged June 18, 1950. Re-enlisting June 29, 1950, he left for Korea Aug. 15, 1950, and was killed at Seoul Sept. 26, 1950. He was awarded the Purple Heart. Surviving, besides his parents, are four brothers, Pfc. Walter E. WOMAN Patricia Ann Stuckenschneider, 30, of 188 Cherry Hill road NW, wife of James Stuckenschneider, was dead on arrival at a Cedar Rapids hospital early Tuesday. An autopsy determined her death was caused by a massive intercranial hemorrhage. June 10, 1990 Cedar Rapids Gazette: CHARLES JOSEPH FITZPATRICK Charles Joseph Fitzpatrick, 86, of 1380 Rainbow Blvd., Hiawatha, died Friday in St. Luke's Hospital after a short illness. Born Sept. 16, 1903, at Cedar Valley, he married Margaret Hanson Nov. 19, 1941, at Cedar Rapids. Mr. Fitzpatrick was an inspector at Cherry Burrell Corp. for 24 years before his retirement. He also farmed in Cedar County until the early 1930's. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Hiawatha. He was an organizer of the Hiawatha Area Senior Citizes, a member of St. Vincent de Paul Society, Cherry Burrell Retirees, U.A.W. Retirees, American Association of Retired Persons, Linn County Senior Advocates & the Hiawatha Park & Recreation Commission. He was an election official for over 20 years. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Sheila Azinger of Montrose, Sharon Nagovan of Menomonie Falls, Wis., and Margie Walsted of Sioux City; a son, Michael C. of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Agnes Rundall of Flint, Mich.; 20 grandchildren & 6 great- grandchildren. Her husband Charles J., parents, one grandchild, one great grandchild, and brothers William, Harry, Herbert, and Robert precede Margaret in death. Margaret Alice Fitzpatrick was born May 20, 1915 in Cedar Rapids to Herbert Eugene and Mary Elizabeth Fitzgerald Hanson. She married Charles Joseph Fitzpatrick on November 19, 1941 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. He died in June of 1990. She worked as a bookkeeper and secretary at St. Ludmila Catholic School for over 20 years. Margaret enjoyed quilting and also knitted baby booties and hats for newborns for Mercy Hospital. She worked elections and was involved with Hiawatha Area Senior Citizen Meals. Margaret was a charter member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
