Robert Harness officiating. DEWITT ? Blanche Margaret McDevitt Kagemann, 92, of DeWitt, died Sunday at West Wing Place, DeWitt. Interment will be in Villa Nova Cemetery. She was born Nov. 22, 1913, to Harry and Blanche McGarry McDevitt. She married Harry Kagemann on June 21, 1935, in Toronto. He died in 1991. She graduated from Elvira High School. She was a homemaker and then was employed in the kitchen at DeWitt Hospital. She later was the custodian at First Central State Bank. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt, and the church's Altar and Rosary Society. Survivors include one daughter, Mary (Mike) Gelaude of Delmar; seven sons, David (Sue) Kagemann of Low Moor, Alan (Gloria) Kagemann of DeWitt, Bill Kagemann of Lost Nation, Ed (Teresa) Kagemann of DeWitt, Paul (Lorraine) Kagemann of Dewitt, Jerry Kagemann of Clinton and Marty (Marita) Kagemann of Delmar; one sister, Mary Lola Wasson of DeWitt; one brother, Lawlor (Gwen) McDevitt of DeWitt; 25 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Wayne Kagemann died on Friday, February 3, 2006 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa from a massive sarcoma tumor of the liver. Wayne was born on January 22, 1937, the son of Harry and Blanche (McDevitt) Kagemann. He was a graduate of Wheatland High School in 1955. He was employed as a machinist for Caterpillar, Mt. Joy until he retired in 1987. He then worked at Theisen's in DeWitt for several years. Memberships include SS Philip and James Catholic Church in Grand Mound, American Legion Post 466, Calamus and UAAW Retirement 215. He enjoyed his mechanic work, hunting, carpentry. Bill was born John William Kagemann, August 1, 1943 to Harry and Blanche (McDevitt) Kagemann. He married Pamela Joy Twigg, July 16, 1966 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Long Grove. Bill began his working career at Collis in Clinton, Iowa. He was employed by Rock Island International Harvester Works and retired from Navistar, Springfield, Ohio. Following retirement he worked for EB Construction, Clinton and Custom Pak, DeWitt. He finally retired to farming at Lost Nation, which he enjoyed greatly. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lost Nation. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. Bill never knew a stranger and enjoyed visiting. Hugo Gerleman Funeral services for Hugo Gerleman of Ossian were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 22 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Ossian with Msgr. Cletus J. Hawes officiating. Hugo, 80, died Tuesday, August 19, 2003 at the Ossian Senior Hospice in Ossian where he has lived since April 1, 1999. Hugo John Gerleman was born October 22, 1922 in the St. Lucas area, the son of Aloysius and Rose (Tillman) Gerleman. He received his education at St. Lucas. Hugo was inducted into the Armed Forces during WW II and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre until his discharge in 1946. He received the victory Medal, Occupation Medal and Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal. On April 20, 1948 he married Leona M. Geling at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Ossian. They lived on a farm in the Ossian area until they moved into Ossian in 1994. Hugo was a member of the American Legion, St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, and an honorary member of its' Rosary Society. He enjoyed watching birds, playing cards, gardening, playing ball, fishing, hunting squirrels, and pitching horseshoes. He is survived by his wife Leona; nine children: Elizabeth Gerleman of Davenport, Duane of Monona, Loraine Kagermann of DeWitt, Dennis of Decorah, Dale of Ossian, David of Plainfield, Daniel of Spillville, Dean of Chippewa Falls, and Mary Ann Neuzil of Cresco; 22 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers: Virgil of Ft.
